To each to his own, I'd guess. Why play PTO when you can mod the theater you are interested about to the SHIV?

On a personal note; why these threads keep popping up anyways? Nobody forces one to use an Atlantic mod and maybe some of the modders making Atlantic things to SHIV wouldnt even be interested to mod the fleetboat side of the game.

I have been interested on the axis side of the WWII for a loooong time, be it shooters, flightsims or subsims. If someone offers to make an Atlantic campaign to SHIV, I certainly wont be saying "no, thanks".

Not that it matters for squat, but I'd certainly much rather hear (read) a cheery RDP post than many of the decidedly more "sour" ones in this thread. Just an opinion and it's mine (and I believe quite a few others, although I've been known to be wrong about things before).

Accusing someone of "toeing the corporate line" because you don't agree with what they say is a decidedly childish approach to the subject. Unfortunately, there's a lot of that going around lately.

For me its not the game, nor the Allies or Axis but the whole theater of War itself

My main interest is the European Theather, whether it be Flightsims, Naval Sims, Subsims or RTS games.

I aint going to say the PTO is boring, damn its was hell on earth around there, I have watched docs about the PTO war and I cant imagine a worse place to be back then. but in General I have little interest in the PTO but that doesnt mean I completly ignore it, Perhaps one day I will expand my interest to that theather but mainly now I still have things to discover in the European War

As a young kid I walked on the beaches of Normandy, I've seen the cliffs of Omaha (I was stunned that mankind had such will to climb their way up to meet the Germans head on) I've been inside the Germans Bunkers, I still could smell the age of war in them.

to sum it up,
I grew up with the Normandy invasion and the road till Berlin.
I've expended my interest till Stalingrad in the East, and the victory of the British forces in the south (north Afrika campaign).

Bottom line it is a game and as mentioned, I am a more than a little tired of the ATO vs. PTO thing. It's all a little childish and needs to stop.

they put 2 theathers against eachother.
its not the Theather thats the problem, but people feel like stabbing the other Theaters by saying the other is Boring, or saying that their theater is the best theater which pisses of the other side.
its like they are turning ATO and PTO into a bloody Religion :o

Main reason why people choose their Theater is their Interest,
and nobody is able to change that for someone Else.
like said in my previous posts, thats my interest.
and I respect others interest, you will see that both theaters have things in comon and perhaps you can learn something from eachothers but thats up to you to decide if your interested in it.

I played SH3 for years . I bought SH4 and love the PTO . I bought the uboat expansion and tried the ATO and just couldnt get into it again . Waiting for GWX . Would like to play PTO and ATO when bored of PTO .
