Im not that enlightened about the Ise's Anti Aircraft armament.. All i can recall is: 6x 16/14" dual cannons 12x (6 per side) 6" casket cannons 4x 4.7" dual anti aircraft cannons, 2 per side.. Small arms : unknown ^^ |

i actully liked the IJN Yamato. i have a 3D model of the Bismarck/Tirpitz in googlesketchup6 but i dont know what to do w/ it. when do you think the Ise and the heavy cruiser will be out?

IMO you can forget sketchup models. It is difficult to convert them in obj. I recommend to look for the Silent hunter 3 model. It is working in SH4;)

While the idea is pretty damn cool there is one huge problem i have with trying to use the big guns in SH4.
One) Unless there is no damage control there is no way to know whats happening or if your ship is in critical condition. Two) Your alone, While being a one sub is OK. Without any kind of support your a single target for a whole fleet Three) It seems that the AI has no idea how to send air attacks after your BB, so all you rally see are small scout groups... food for such a large ship. Carriers just dance around before taking a shell in the side like they forgot how to scramble planes. Four) ANY ship can see you and fire on you well before you can make visual contact. Apperently Fletchers can out range a yammy... This seems to be a just for fun only idea at the moment, unless you can get some kind of escort or maybe some tweaks to gun ballistics and AI sight range modifactions this a just for fun mode. I would love to be able to go round for round agaisnt another BB, but its just not there yet |
Xypher, i know this issue aswell and seems like it's the limited # of deck watch members is the one that affects the maximum range, this has like 3 while the PBB had 5 or 6, and the PBB spotters can see up to 18km or so.
IF xan could teach how to alternate the # of crew on the ship, i'd add at least to the deck watch. :hmm: And trust me, i've adjusted the values so that the spotters can see up to 18km in PBB Mod, im yet to do some tests on how to boost the maximum sight range for the Yamato. |
Well i hope it changes soon, i would really like see something come from this. It might have to be a little arcade like to really be fun though. Because in a realistic setting there is no way that a BB will be able to chase down a strike force by its self and mow it down. And i dont want to just be chasing down convoys... but with huge guns instead of torps.
