Thanks JCsones:up:
Update, For those who have multiple installs of SH3 Commander, installing it is abit different, For GWX when it asks you to install to what directory C:\Program Files\SH3 Commander = Default you will have to change it to C:\Program Files\*****name****\. Becareful it may add "\SH3 Commander" after you named folder you click on ok. |
Perfect timing! Now I can just throw out the old one and start fresh with GWX 2.1.
Oh, wait, Crusty Curmudgeon meant to say "Why do you keep doing this to me? I hate you!":x By the way, I'll have something for you in a few days.:sunny: |

It's not a big thing, but it makes a difference to at least one person (namely me). |

Question: I'm currently running SH3 Commander v3.0.0.161, have installed GWX 2.1 with the requisite GWX_2.1_Cfg_4_SH3Cmdr3. All is working well. Since I will be installing SH3 Cmdr 3.1 over the top of v3.0, will I need to run GWX_2.1_Cfg_4_SH3Cmdr3 again afterward?

For those running SH3Cmdr R3.0 and GWX2.x, the process in (hopefully) simple steps, is: 1. Rollback SH3Cmdr R3.0 (not really necessary in this case, but always good practice). 2. Install SH3Cmdr R3.1 over the top of SH3Cmdr R3.0. 3. Reinstall the GWX_2.1_Cfg_4_SH3Cmdr3 files into your new SH3Cmdr installation. Done. If you use NYGM, then the process is the same; just replace the GWX reference in step 3 with NYGM. The necessary files form part of the full NYGM d/l. If you use WAC or LSH3, tmk you do not need to worry at all about this. |
Thank you, sir. And thanks for the continued evolution of SH3 Commander:up:

Hello,
sorry, i must be as dumb as a brick. I do not find a reference in the SH3 pdf file on that, and i have asked it before. For an existing installation with SHCOmmander 3 you wrote the steps are: 1. Rollback SH3Cmdr R3.0 (not really necessary in this case, but always good practice). 2. Install SH3Cmdr R3.1 over the top of SH3Cmdr R3.0. 3. Reinstall the GWX_2.1_Cfg_4_SH3Cmdr3 files into your new SH3Cmdr installation ok. Now for a new installation: 1. Install SH3, and patch. 2. Install GWX2.1. Enable mods as you like, then 3. Install SH3 Commander 3.1 (i ran the SH3Cmdr31.exe file) (If changes in mods are made, roll back SH3 Commander 3.1. before activating/deactivating mods via your Mod enabler.) That is what i did, and it seems to work. But what are those GWX_2.1_Cfg_4_SH3Cmdr3 files ? Thanks and greetings, Catfish |

Sh3Cmdr 3.1 rocks! |
Hello Murr44,
thanks, i just found it in the GWX2.1 manual pdf, and downloaded the file, thank you. However there is the next problem: "Download from the GWX site (http://gwx.mysite.orange.co.uk) and extract the contents into your SH3 Commander\Cfg folder. Refer to the readme.txt in the zip file for more detailed information. " That is what you wrote, and what is in the manual, but somehow this does not look right - i installed it directly into the cfg folder as in the readme, so the folder structure now reads : SH3 Commander\CFG\GWX_2.1_CFG_4_SH3Cmdr3.0 and below this folder there is again a cfg folder, and a Flotilla and U-boat folder. I thought those folders should overwrite the CFG, Flotilla and U-boat folders directly under SH3 Commander ? Or is it ok the way i wrote it here ? As well i wonder why the "GWX_2.1_CFG_4_SH3Cmdr3.0" refers to 3.1 ? Thanks for your patience, Catfish |
