I bought the add-on the day it was released but have never installed it. I was waiting on the mods to catch up and during that time, I tried RFB and now I'm completely addicted to it so I'm waiting on the 1.5 version.

Thank you RFB Team and Ducimus for keeping the fleetboats in focus, it really means alot to me.:up:

Yeh, right!! I seen on the news the other day Americans complaining that it cost them more than $50 to fill up... it cost me more than £50 to fill up! (ie $100)

@AVGWarhawk -damn you, you're twisting my arm! :stare:

Ryan, to fill my Lincoln that holds 20 gallons and I have to run high test because it is a 4.6 V8 with a bit higher compression costs $75.00. Ouch! I pass everything with my V8 except gas stations:rotfl: Anyway, lets look at this way, you buy the cheap beer for $10.00. You drink it in 2-3 hours then you piss it away. That's it. All you have to show for it is a headache and several trips to the bathroom. Now, for $10.00 purchase of the add-on, you will have years of enjoyment. The math is in the favor of the add-on and your liver will thank you for not drinking the beer. :D Simply put, for $10.00 it will probably be the best investment for the year. The returns on it are limitless.

You might be! A six pack of Schafer beer runs about $4.50 US. Thing is, it taste like $4.50 beer:shifty:

-Ok guys, the add-on is half finished, time for release right ?

-Yeah, so, how much do we price that ?

-The guys on Subsim await that one like teenagers await George Clooney on the Champs Elysées, let's go for 30 bucks !

-Sounds good, right, 30$ !

-Wait wait wait guys, did you see that guy Ducimus and some other fellows ? There's no way they will pay 30$ for that !

-Yeah, they're americans you know, they don't give a crap about u-boats, what about u-boats

-Allright, the add-on has a few mb of fleet boat data, right ? I'm sure they'll spit some money for that !

-Ok, what about a fair price, say 10 bucks for the US, and we keep it 30 for those fancy europeans wearing kriegsmarine hats and stuff ?

-Deal !

I'd be happy if I could find the add-on for less than 25 Euro here in Greece :nope:
Apparently, we're still not part of the EU, as some would like us to believe...

fwiw, I got the add-on (DVD) from Ubi's own shop for 10 GBP + 2 GBP shipping... (~ 15 euros) Although it doesn't seem to be available right now (their site seems to be throwing errors by the dozens at me atm)

THE_MASK 04-14-08 05:28 AM

$30 at EB games carindale brisbane .

Im going to be the black sheep and say that i think that the uboat mission addon should get its own forum.

Two main reasons:

1.) Uboat mission add on means hardcore SH3 uboat players, the mod culture for SH3 is entirely different, and not compatible with SH4's mod culture. They are exact opposites, and clash's are inevitable. You may as well put two badgers together in a burlap sack.

2.) To maintain theater focus. This is bennifical for both the ATO and PTO. Personally, i dont want to have to sift through alot of uboat crap when all i want is fleetboat stuff, and im sure their is a similar sentiment from uboat fans. If you make a mod that effects both , then post in boths forum. Although ill wager that most mods have a primary focus, and MAYBE a secondary focus, if any secondary focus at all.

Seriously, i think its time to for forum management to pull their heads out of the sand, acknowledge that there is a difference between these two theaters, and the fan culture of both don't always see eye to eye. Best to keep them in their own respective corners.

First off, it is not necessary to see eye to eye on anything. Subsim is, and has been for as long as I've been associated with it... a global community.

<repeating for the umpteetn... gajillionth time>

U-boat players have no interest in prying fleet boat players from their rides... and of course the opposite is true as well. Individuals simply enjoy what they enjoy. There really isn't any changing that.

I certainly don't feel that the forum administrator had his "head in the sand" when he made the decision to have a unified mod workshop for the SH4 platform.

That decision ensures that diversity (and progress) is allowed to live.

The point is moot anyway now, as the decision has already been made.

Things will evolve as they should whether or not any particular individual takes issue with the current format.

There have always been "clashes" and unfortunately there will be more on occasion. That is forum life. Segregating modders by interest would be more damaging to logical modding progress than any "clash" anyway.

Maintaining a "theater focus" is a simple matter anyway via use of simple thread title tag-lines...

"FB" = Fleet Boats
"UB" = U-boats

... or something equally simple.

It ain't hard. The ocean really is big enough.:lol:
