Not Lot's Wife...

I have been told that the formation that was blasted was one that resembled a sailing ship and NOT Lot's Wife..........

Never Mind.......

Perhaps its possible to make a new "Ship" formed as Sofu Gan. Then place it on the spot as a ship on anchor with a ton of hitpoints......

At least untill the Dev's gets it right

SofuGan : a pillar of salt

Hello,
I installed this MOD does not seem to work well for me. When I arrive in the area, I locate the rock SofuGan very well but it has no texture: it is white as a pillar of salt. I hope it will not melt!

I'm with SH4 1.5 + TMO 1.7. Also, I tried without TMO, but the result is not better.

In advance thank you for advice.

If the model is showing and it sounds like it is - is the sofugan.dds texture installed in Data\Textures\TNormal\tex\?

Sounds like it is something simple like the texture isn't activated but that is strange. Maybe the edit to the file has a misplaced semi colon - something simple like that.

You'll get it.

Happy Hunting!

Hello Art,

My poor familiarity of the language Anglo-Saxon does not allow me to understand the full meaning of your sentence. I am very sorry.
Can you repeat it otherwise?

To enlighten you:
- sofugan.dds file is installed in: Data\Textures\TNormal\tex\
- When I edit this file with XnWiew (for example), I see as the normal texture in file Sofu_Gan_model_for_SH4.pdf

What can happen? Thank you for your help.

In Campaign_LOC.mis
find this section. Maybe the type is wrong? Try Type=0 maybe?

Paste in your section.

Hello,
Here are the results of tests:

- 1st solution : Sofu Gan rock is white (no file found sofu_cross.dds in my directories ?)

- 2nd solution : no Sofu Gan exist

- 3rd solution : this is my current version

Please note: Out of curiosity, I installed TMO 2.0
I see Sofu Gan rock with normal texture, no white !!!
Campaign.LOC is the same like 3rd solution.

Unfortunately, I cannot play with TMO 2.0 because it is inconsistent with other French MOD I use. It would be too good!
I really do not know what should I do ... :damn:

Sweet!

Having just figured out how to mod SH IV on my Mac (Plays via Steam & Crossover games), I'll have to give this check out this rock! :)

Sorry - replace that 2D line with
"FileName2D=None.dds"
or Copy paste from one of the others - - I didn't intend to use that file - it was an experiment to see if a X on the map would help people find it but I didn't think it was worth it - the Sofu Gan is on the highest pixel.

Again, sorry - someone made a large mod using this and I bet money their big mod doesn't work. Type=0 is important - I see that they used Type=1. Now we know it must be Type=0.

This is good news actually. I think we narrowed this down. When everything is correct as in Ducimus' TMO 2.0 and every file automatically loads it does work.

An edit or a file is not correct.

A pillar of salt means that the model correctly loaded with no texture. So we know the model is loading. When loaded with JSGME does the sofugan.dds texture file also load to the correct location in the game files?

It sounds like you numbered [MapLocation 1124] or whatever your number is correctly or there would be no pillar of salt.

Be sure the texture file makes it to the game files location. Can you paste in your little block of code for Sofu Gan so I can be sure your code is correct please?

We will get this right :)

OK. While I'm in check, I perform tests with your MOD, without tinkering.

Do you think it is possible that between TMO 1.7 and TMO 2.0, Ducimus has modified one of its files to activate the texture of Sofu Gan?

Again thank you for your help. Without you, I would have the gun to my head!

Yes. I just checked that.

Gibus 08-07-11 08:35 AM

Art,

I just try a rewarding experience.
I installed TMO 2.0 + Sofu Gan.
Of course, files Sofu Gan crushed those of TMO. Normal.
I see very well the texture of the rock.
Can I conclude that TMO 2.0 contains one or more files that activate the textures? But which ones?
