A very long time ago Charles Schulz did a 'Peanuts' cartoon in which a very young Linus is asking his older sister Lucy to read him a rather thick book. She finally stops watching television, opens the book, says "A man was born. He lived and died. The end.", and hands it back to him.

Linus' comment? "What an amazing story. It makes you wish you knew the fellow."
