wow wish i would have known that before i bought it....
heck, it kills geomerty and the like lights ok but is crap for AA.... oh well I thinking about Crossfire some time soon, could a but a card better at AA and have that AA while my other one sticks to other stuff like lighting (kinnda like a 60/40 picture with the 40% Running the AA)? or should i buy another one for $130? |
Gimpy, when you go to the CCC, try changing your mipmap level and take anistropic filtering to 2x.
AF is a bigger framerate killer than AA, and a High AF coupled with AA will really kill your framerate. Start at an AA of 4x and AF of 2x with Mipmap detail set in the middle. Turn off Adaptive AA, Catalyst AI, and Temporal AA. Try turning them on one at a time and check your framerates. ATi claims better framerates with temporal AA on, but I haven't seen any difference. All of the other settings eat up your GPU overhead, so try them one at a time. You may find you'll leave all the special settings off and get what you want with just the basic AA, AF, and mipmap settings. |
alright i think it's set at 4x
I'm away from there at the moment but I'll do it next week... i thought the A.I helped the frames??? and Adaptive AA was supposed to help as well.... You know more than me though lol.... must be some kind of mishap when you enable them all fully or somthing |
Nope, temporal anti ailiasing is supposed to improve performance, Adaptive antialiasing or (AAA) gives bettter image quality, but at a perfomance hit.
Catalyst A.I. according to ATi, increases performance with "Certain" games and applications. On others it does nothing for you. This has to be tried on a case by case basis. That's why I suggest turning all the special stuff off first, setting anti-aliasing to 4x, anistropic filtering to 2x and mipmap detail to medium. Get a base line frame rate here. Then turn on the special features one at a time. If you get an increase keep it. If you take a hit, turn it off. Once you have the special settings turned on that help with frame rates for your particular setup, then go back and play with AA, AF, and mipmap levels. Fine tuning for balanced performance can take a little while. But once you've gone through this you never have to wonder how to get the best balance of performance and image quality because you know you're already there. |
Oh by the way, that GPU Perfstudio, i can't make it to work again...
Don't know what i've done exactly last time for sure. CTD right after intro video all the times |

hey guys!! git it to work....
did what you said and instead of 49-50 i get 35-45 or so It still gets killed underwater...is there a fix for this |

I resized them to 256x256 in a small optimization mod. Try this mate and please tell me if it works better: http://www.4shared.com/file/40193171...ower_rigs.html Install on top of ROW/PE using JSGME |
hmmm yeah i was wondering bout that....
it had to be somthing underwater but i would have never guessed the ligh shafts ( I would of pinned it on the impurities) but, im on stock.... not the eniroment, but i'll try it and see if it hurts my frames, and if not, hell I'll defenately keep it... |
