Sorry to sound completely daft :doh: but do you mean that this fix is already "IN" RSRD?

Cheers ;)

It looks to me as if the original mod posted in this thread is a stand alone.

That said, I'm confident it's in the current RSRDC.

well kakemann was doing it and found out lurker had been working on the same mod so they joined their work together and released the mod as a stand alone. soon after that, the stand alone link quit working and kakemann has not been around for several months now (dont know if he left the forum or not) and lurker has not offered a new working link for it. (i sent him a PM request for a working link that went unanswered)

I don't have the original set of files any more, It was rolled into RSRDC some time ago.

I've just noticed that the Japanese Momi class seems to lack active Sonar. They seem to have a listening gear but when they attack you never hear them using active sonar.

this 2 old bugs and i think many more are not fixed, thats for sure....

Again, people, a bug is an error in the game programming. The above is no bug at all. It is life. Show me a single instance in Atlantic or Pacific where a submarine lost propulsion and was able to get home by any means other than fixing its own engines. This bug is between your ears.:rotfl:

I guess the "bug" is that if your engines are hit all 4 engines are destroyed. American subs had a forward and an aft engine room, so if your forward engine room takes a hit your aft engine room should stay intact and you should have 2 engines left to take you home.

i havent seen a thread on that issue for quite a while, the few attempts i saw who looked at it before were not finding any success with it.

why dont you start a new thread and see if you can get a new project going on a mod to fix it.

it might have better success now that people are more used to using skwasjers s3d and if you can get skwasjer himself involved to have a look, he has insight with hard to find and hard to fix problems.

I contacted Lurker and he kindly allowed me to redo this mod using the x,y,z coordinates contained in his RSRDC MOD. I added the necessary nodes as listed in the first post and then using Lurker's numbers moved them to the proper location on the DDs and DEs

The ships corrected and the info on in the first post of this thread.

Files included:
* DATA/SEA/NDE_EVARTS/NDE_Evarts.dat
* DATA/SEA/NDD_SOMERS/NDD_Somers.dat
* DATA/SEA/NDD_CLEMSON/NDD_Clemson.dat
* DATA/SEA/NDE_RIVER/NDE_River.dat
* DATA/SEA/NDE_BUCKLEY/NDE_Buckley.dat

Enjoy the cascade of Depth Charges that will now be dropped on you.

Originally done by Kakemann and Lurker_hlb3, reproduced because the MOD no longer exists.

Sorry for being absent for such a long while.

I have updated the link in the first post to the one that peabody so kindly added.

I have also created a mirror download.

Thanks Peabody

I'm now back to subsim!

Welcome back. No need for thanks (but you're welcome) you did the work, I just copied the numbers so others could use the info.
