Some of us and I'll will speak for myself don't have the peepers we used to have and need a little help.

These little adjustments we make may take a bit of realism away but it's better than not playing at all.

And I believe in my heart that the Gwx team with all their hard work want us all to enjoy it the best way we can IMHO.

Hi Firewall:

I really enjoyed attacking convoys in SH3. I eventually found it easy to find a position of advantage. However, one thing that Penelope does that I've never tried, was a night surface raid in the convoy. It seems that the escorts find you anyway. I have tried snorkel depth attack in SH3 and that's neat. :ping:

I seem to get nailed everytime. But thats half the fun for me is to keep trying. :D I kinda like the early 1940 era in a VIIB boat. :yep:

as to your question #4 concerning movies:

:know:

I've only experimented with making movies a bit, with limited success I might add...

But keep in mind that not all ships in GWX sink slowly all the time, It's quite possible for any ship, from flimsy tugboat to enormous Ocean Liner to disappear into the depths within a few minutes of being hit, sometimes even with just one eel

There's quite a few factors involved, some random, some dependent on where you hit the ship, whether it was with a magnetic or impact eel, and depending on what it's carrying. I can comprehensively confirm that (reasonably) rapid sinkings are still common enough not to get frustrated by the occasional stubborn ship that keeps clinging desperately to positive buoyancy for hours on end.

As far as surface attacks go, it's a tactics game and well worth taking the time to get yourself some skills in that area, especially early on,

Thank you Sir for your useful information. I have started a patrol using GWX2, sunk a small merchant (I could have gone and made supper while it was sinking :rotfl: ) and hope to finish it and make a movie of the mission as I have done so often with SH3.

Give one a try; you will never know whether you got it right unless you try.

There is a mod for the tails and there is a mod to lower the rotating RDF antenna.

I use the RDF by going to my Navbigator? Radioman and asking him for messages. If anything was heard on the RDF he will tell you how far away.

Research SHIII Mods forum. The tail one was fairly recent and the RDF is an older mod.
