I used to own the old boxed Third Reich, but was never able to master the rules.:damn: I still remember those BRP cards tho. |
I have a closet full of hex and counter board games. I just tried to teach my wife Panzer Blitz, but that didn't go so well so I'm going to have to drop down from a relatively easy to learn game to "Even a two year old can do it" to gradually bring her up to Third Reich level.
I have the old Third Reich PC game on my PC and I play it using Dosbox quite often. Playing on a computer just isn't the same thing as pushing all those little carboard counters around. I like to be able to see my entire battlefield without having to scroll around to see everything. |
Sure, playing for real is nice with all the pieces, but online makes it easier to get a game together and there are other advantages. It's true that there is no perfect solution.
I'm hoping that by a good division of labour people will eb able to focus on a smaller bit of the board. I'm also going to post smaller maps showing general developments so that you can keep abreast of what's going on on the other side. Die rolls will be handled by me - unless that proves unfeasible. A forum could be starting up soon... |
We could use warplanner: http://www.warplanner.com/ I haven't looked at it too much so I'm not sure if it can handle what we want to do but it's worth a try I guess.
