Right, guys,I'll quote the sentence which stays in the manual: "Five man liferafts were stowed in watertight containers on the foredeck"....I think that's it!These longe-range VIIC/41s had life rafts as well, while "normal" VIICs were equipped just with the lifejackets for all crew members....Or am I wrong? But sounds logical to me.
And once again...Thank to all of you,I'm happy that such a great forum exists, that we can share our enthusiasm about everything concerning the submarine warfare. |
Yes,they are life raft cannisters:yep: Damn fine model, congratulations:up:

Thank you!
To Faamecanic: You have probably the second model in this scale and that is VIIC "Wolfpack" with simple conning tower, with one flak, but also with the deck gun. |
Love the paintjob, very nice:up:

U997
Great model and the camouflage-drawing is superb!
I'm a newbie here and also in modelling subs but I needed a challeging hobby after my retirement from the Royal Dutch Marines and since my greatest hobby diving on shipwrecks is.... makes logic eey :DL Last year I builded a typ VIIC the U552. And now busy with also the U997 from Revell scale 1:72. I noticed that the camouflage on the Revell was a little simple so I took a little from your ideas and less from Revell :har:. We'll keep in touch and greetz . Nils |
