I've just walked into the galley and found pancakes all over the walls, roof and floor.
That's the last time I let Bernard loose in the galley!!!

IMHO, you can never have too much butter on pancakes!

....and swimming in real, grade AA, maple syrup! *DROOL*

When I make homemade buttermilk pancakes, I pour the batter in generously so the pancakes come out the nearly the same size as the plate! :D

God bless my departed Mother! She kept me from being a starving bachelor but it also means I'm a better cook than my wife!

We just know how to eat pancakes right Graf Paper. btw I used to live in Pac N.W.

I sadly cannot eat most pancakes any more...

Blood sugar you know... :nope:

But WAIT! :hmm:

Today is FAT TUESDAY! :sunny::up::sunny:

Hmmm......

You are indeed correct, FIREWALL. I may be clogging my arteries and knocking years off my life but at least I'll die happy!:D

Living up here between the Rockies and Cascades is a real treat for the eyes (so many hills and mountains!) but the record-breaking snowfall we've been having is beginning to grate on my nerves. :88)

I'm actually a transplanted Texan but moved here so the wife could be near her family. If they had truly good Tex-Mex and barbecue around these parts, it would be paradise but the lack of 106F summers makes up for the cuisine to some extent.

NealT, they do make sugar-free pancake syrup (my dad loved the stuff) and maybe you could have a couple of silver-dollar pancakes without worrying too much about the carbs jacking your sugar levels.

I suppose I'll have to make sure the cook stocks supplies aboard for making fasnachts to keep down a mutiny.

So...does Pancake Day mean the Royal Navy has to fly the Union Flap-Jack?:rotfl:

He he, I like the opening post :)

We cheated this year and got ready made ones from aldi (not the sweet type)

Damn lovely, 1st offerings were covered in mature grated cheddar with thin slices of black pudding and quickly toasted (yummy savoury critters) Then for pud rest were warmed through in non stick frying pan and drizzled with maple syrup n clear honey with a good squirt of fresh lemon juice (also very yummy lol)

Gotta love some of our old uk quirks ;)

If any guys/gals here like black pudding try it cut up like banana fritters and deep fried in a nice batter, Adds another dimension to its savoury taste

Have Fun

Ciao

At last ! Well done Mr.Defiance, I didn't realise that our overseas shipmates wouldn't understand the gist of things.

Just to set things straight, the act of turning over pancakes to cook both sides is performed whilst still in the pan, a quick flick and said pancake flips over while airborne, this is known as tossing, person who undertakes operation is therefore a tosser, a tosser is also a name for someone who undertakes particular practices on themselves, how shall I say, Oneism ( I think that's how it's spelt), if you get my drift, So, there were no pancakes on my sub last night, because our cook's a useless tosser ! = He's either no good at flipping pancakes or he's a right W#^@*r .
Phew, it was funny at the time, :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
