Nice solution!

Uber Gruber 02-19-08 09:26 AM

I place an 'X' mark on the nav point and then write down the X-mark number against the time in a little book I keep on my desk, I call it my "Little Nav Mark Book". Its red you see, and looks rather nice. I mainly use a black pen to write the time as it contrasts well with the white pages, but sometimes I go a little mad and use blue.

Its not an elegant solution but its handy enough, unless of course you are unable to write, in which case its complete pants!

I used to do exactly the same thing :yep: but my desk is tiny and I got sick of shuffling things around whenever I needed to switch between KB, mouse, and notepad.

I was only being silly OLC, in reality I have a keyboard and mouse on a piece of wood which slides under the desk, so the desk itself is always clear.

That said, I only play SH3 when on asigned patrol for WolvesAtWar. The desk gets pretty cluttered with log ook, U-Boat Handbook, operation procedures etc etc.

Have you tried WaW, you should check it out if not because i'd say you'd really enjoy it. :yep:

The last time a new WaW campaign was announced I really wanted to get involved but I'd started working on the GUI and that took all my time. Since then I've not seen another WaW announced. :(

Sigh! ...Finally my Enigma machine started producing some readable output when I enterred the "WaW" key into. I've got stacks of radio messages that didn't make sense and I had to ignore. It had no problem deciphering using yesterdays message-key "DiD". But somehow the wheels kept jamming or skipping until I read your message. Bernhard has been messing with it no doubt. :damn:

;)

You can join at anytime, I re-joined just before Patrol 7 and got assigned to the 1st Flot just in time to head out on Patrol 7 (my first patrol in this campaign). If you join within the next week then you'll be ready to go out on Patrol 8.

I'd seriously suggest considering it.

Pisces... I've only just worked out (I think) what this post is about. :88)

You want to know what WaW is, right? It's a roleplayed SH3 campaign. BDU are a bunch of guys running the whole thing. They give you your patrol grid and orders, they are who you report to between (and maybe during?) your (SP) campaign missions. They determine what medals/promotions you get and whether or not you get a new sub, a transfer, etc. It all sounds pretty cool to me so I signed up. Still in training atm.

:p

Yeah, as soon as I figured it was short for Wolves at War I did a google and found that out. Sofar I only knew about the Pacific Thunder campain that was originally for SH1. Good there is also a Kriegsmarine equivalent. However, I play far from regular (even if one patrol per 3 weeks) so I doubt it's something for me. But let's not get away from topic.
