when the boat gets dammaged The reason why it is blue instead of red is to prevent the crew from seeing wrong colors in the engine room it is necessary during repairs of electrical stuff. The crew needs to see the right colors of the wires they are handling with.
with red lights,Red looks yellow.yellow looks white.green looks black The crew needs to see the right colors of the wires they are handling, with blue light that eliminates the problem. |

Here ya go... You'll have to do this for the _CT.dat as well, and the other boats...
You may also want to change the (night) colors of the omni lights (point lights). The only problem is, v0.5.4 doesn't support this yet (you can only change daylight colors). v0.5.5 will support this, coming soon ;) Also, afaik, the navmap has an overlay tga/dds that is reddish as well... http://sh4.skwas.net/media/misc/interior_light.gif |
For me, rig for green is best.

To my knowledge only the control room, and conning tower had red lighting, to preserve the night vision of the crew headed to watch stations on the bridge. The rest of the boat, engine room, torpedo rooms, crew's quarters, ect, were either white (most likely not), or blue.
The lighting in the USS Pampanito, at San Fransico has it's conning tower bathed in a red light, as seen from the control room. The S-boat has so little info about it, the blue light is feasable. I like the blue light of the S-boat, but the red of the fleet boat is much more freindly to the night vision. |
after reading the posts i have decided that rig for red is the most historic and i know blue was never used in the conning tower or control room so i have decided to leave it as red
