ROTFLMAO!
:rotfl::rotfl:

Really hurts, doesn't it mate.:D

As long as you can find/extract the *.obj file, any model in SH3 can be done this way.

KLCARROLL 01-16-08 08:28 AM

Everyone on the GWX team has earned a whole book of “Get Out of Jail Free Cards” when it come to the subject of the occasional “vent”!!!!!!!

I think I speak for the entire UBI SH3 forum when I say that GWX is better than sex! (…Much more consistent results, and it lasts a lot longer! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: )

Thanks for all your hard work! (…And “Vent Away”!)

Back on topic.

Privateer mate, you vent if you want to. You've earnt it. Only the GWX team know what you, Ref & DD have had to do to even get GWX 2.0 out of the door. The countless late nights, day's of trawling code & when you did get to close your eyes, seeing the Matrix stylie screensaver scrolling on the inside of your eyelids.

What's the saying?

Feck you, Pay me!

You folks put out a great piece of work, unfortunately it's human nature for many people to find the negative in things rather than talk about the positive. Let's see some of your critics step up to the plate and duplicate what has been done with GWX.
Don't think many of them would volunteer.

I agree with what Reece has mentioned as well, many folks out there appreciate what you folks have done with SH3, but they have not spoken up about this. Truth is, they are probably to busy enjoying the game ;)

Again, congrats to all of you on a job well done.

I have to say something,

Thought the Post Is written in a way that is funny
I did understand what he meant with it in the first
place, and fully support what he says under the
Lines!

I never quited a Mod that i could accomplish and
do, Thought sometimes the same doesn't want to
come out the way I want, this most of the times
leads us Modders to the Road described by Venatore,
Loading testing, exit improving, reloading testing,
Now you all can Multiply this for hours, days , weeks,
months etc....

What it makes me understanding what he says in his
post, is that after all this hard work that sometimes
consumes even your own private life, you go to
see your baby's thread and you see a lot of people
that instead thanking this hard work they just critic
most of the times for a obvious reason that is
pure ignorance or lack of knowledge on the actual
Mod, or History !

Then it comes the Envy of your skills, I know its
choking but there is envy in the World and that
feeling leads most of the times to criticize just
cause someone can't do it !

I believe also that when you come in a place like this
and you decide to Mod, you have to get yourself ready
for all this Things, thought sometimes even I forget
that!

Your a great Moder, and I believe that your disappointment
is consequence of the cool human being that you are !

Privateer Sir I salute you and thank God for having
such a skilled Moder among us!

LOL, maybe you're right.;)

However, Privateer has earnt a venting session. The bloke's a workhorse and will bust open any problems we encounter, aswell as creating some very cool new stuff.

As for this becoming a trend, maybe, depends...

JCWolf 01-16-08 12:00 PM

:o Are we playing with the Enigma code machine again Boys???

Come one and back on your stations!:arrgh!:

Wolfehunter 01-16-08 12:04 PM

Well.. being top dog what did you expect?

Didn't you know when you stepped upto the stage you might to get hit?

When people need to look for wisdom they try to find their version of mosses. Here in sub world GWX is mosses. Its a fait you made your own.:smug:

Don't blame the fans. Fans come in all colours, shapes and sizes and you took on the mantle of greatest modders. So wear your crown with pride for your hard work.

When you see the roses flying to the stage and the cheers roaring in the audience.....Enjoy it. But watch out for the odd rotten tomato torpedoing into your direction.. keep your resolve, stand firm then bow to your admired fans. :yep:

Don't worry most cases that odd tomato flew over your head. ;)

Another thing I learned was make sure the crowd is willing to catch you before you jump off stage...
And 11 is louder than 10....
he deserves to vent so stand up on your soap box an let her rip mate...I'm considering writing the pope and getting saint status for him...

Misunderstanding and friction

In my very humble opinion:

Every society, even a local football club with 20 members, is an accurate copy of the real world-wide society: every aspect characterizing a society is represented inside small groups too.

Every person has a personality that can't dissimulate or change in any circumstance. On the contrary, especially under the cover of alias/pseudonym, bad sides of personality (and bad behavior) come up like from broken security valve.

As far as concern the game —This Society—, people stay still in –after 3 years– for serious reasons, not for playing. This game is very complex, not in playability, but in requiring psychology.

The Player is not the captain, is The U-Boot.

The simulation is the projection of our lives to U-Boot.

Thanks to high percentage of lost lives (more than 80 %) the no-German player feels free of charges. (Charges from the Weight of History, of death or heroes grandfathers against Nazi, of political conflicts –we democrats, these Nazi–, of interest).

He/She is under pressure with early bypassed technology and against numerous enemies. He/She is slow and the enemies fast. He/She feels alone and the enemies are legion, much more attacking than defending, by air, sea and land.

All this is real life situations.

An overall, person who stays a long inside this game is like that: He/She feels old fashion living a modern world without alive principles and very competitive, with bash under the belt and, mostly, without understanding in his/her close (professional only ?) environment.

Please look around: here are married people, with or without children, with careers and duties.

We stay for long hours/days in front of the computer, inside our personalized U-Boot and our personalized crew: it's a rescue, a refuge from harsh vulgar real environment. Principles suffer in present days and be Modder is a way to communicate, to offer, to share, to belonging to a (more healthy) community.

Both parts earn. The Modder gives. He need that, he feels better after sharing. The player takes thankfully. He need help to accommodate his own refuge. And, some times, people feels a bit uncomfortably asking, some times become clumsy, inept, and gauche in society. Additionally, people here represent at least 3 continents! Wide cultural differences… difficulty of expression.

But, in the end, Modders and players we did The Contact. That's' it !

As long as it endures…

Please excuse basic English language. I am sorry if I have offended someone...
