After 48 hours in assigned grid (if nothing has come your way) I head for known/suspected shipping lanes http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...ies/pirate.gif

After three days or so I gradually broaden the general area to half a square either side of my assigned one. Unless I receive a convoy report further out I tend to stick to those areas. I find heading to high traffic spots too easy an option.
|
First i go to my assigned grid and if i am not out of eels by the time 24h had passed i patrol that general area or (more often) go to hunt in convoy lanes.
|
i hit the convoys first cuase chances are i see nill in my grid
but i'm in te black sea...the whole place is my playground!!! |
I hit the assigned patrol grid first; if I get damaged elsewhere before I finish it, I throw away a nice chunk of renown. Once I finish the assigned patrol, I work the nearest shipping lane on the assumption that BdU wants me working that area.

Orders are orders, but maybe my trip home will become a little bit "streched" ;)
So 2 with a little bit of 3 |
I do my grid then head for the convoy lanes.
In real life U-Boats were often redirected as reports came in as to enemy location so when a convoy sighting has been relayed to you it could be considered a new order although there is no penalty or reward regarding the "Suggestions" in SH3 Wulfmann |
I usually try to hunt up a convoy lane.
