As far as Ubi are concerned SH3 has sailed in to the sun set job done time to move on. SH4 is also set to sail in to the sun set by years end of 2008 that is.

When you make a save underwater sometimes when you go to resume instead of being at periscope death when you return you find yourself in a crash dive that only ends with your sub imploding.

Does this mean I should only save when surfaced? That can be dangerous with a DD overhead.

Yes. You should only save while surfaced. And try not to do it with a DD around.:88)

I experienced the Sub Plunge of Death many MANY times before I found out about the bug and started saving on the surface (And to think I kept blaming Bernard...and I'm still not convinced that he has nothing to do with it fully).:nope:

If you save within 30/40km of any ships, they also lose their waypoints and carry on in a straight line, regardless of anything in their path, including land.

Patches? We don't need no stinking patches!
Or maybe if they made a Pirates of the Burning Sea game or similar they could put in a patch as promotional thingy to help sell it.
:arrgh!:

So, does this mean if you perform a save when hunting and getting into position on a convoy to attack or perform a save when you are evading escorts after an attack that the game will get completely screwed up?

Meaning then that the only safe way to save is when you're surfaced and all alone upon the peaceful ocean for as far as the eye can see?

That would be a shame as it brings back memories of SH2 and having to complete an entire patrol in one gaming session. This basically means that you need to complete an entire convoy engagement in one gaming session.

Is there anyway to know if a convoy you have tracking has gotten their pathing corrupted by saving and reloading the game the next evening?

Thanks.

I hope not.

The only thing that ubi should release is the SDK for sh3 and sh4.
Or give the enough tools to port sh3 in sh4 engine

I think we're far more likely to see a new Atlantic sim by now than a patch for SHIII. I mean seriously, the game is closing on its 3rd birthday! Yea, yea, it seems like it was just yesterday for some of us (;)), but let's face it - she's an old girl. On the bright side, she's matured nicely!

Enjoy it for what it now is, not what it could be. :yep:

Saving within said distance....you run that risk yes. http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...ies/pirate.gif
