Good show Racerboy.

Would it be possible to use your reserved post at the top of the thread as a kind of sticky for GWX2.0 compatible mods?

Modders could confirm compatibility of their work to you so as you can post the link there?

Just an idea mate?

that is exactly what it's there for. A list of GWX 2.0 compatible mods (when we have some) We will give them some time to sort out bugs and all and work out the kinks first before modding it.

I've used your Exhaust mod for the VIIb and so far it appears to be working perfectly. About 2/3 of the way through my first patrol

All of my exhaust mods (to date) should work no problemo with GWX 2.0 since I packed everything into the .val file. If you do though have a problem please report it here. Thanks.

Racerboy, without any desire to be involved in initial "exchange of gunfire" between you and leading wolves, I fully appreciate and support your desire to test and improve the things...

Without that "drive", this simulation would, most likely, be left in history and this particular forum would not exist.

I understand that GWX effort needs some (well deserved) time to be fully tested and appreciated, but I can't beleive that in a forum named SH3 Mods Workshop we have locked threads - because somebody wants to test and modify existing level of improvement.

This thread has very good intentions, it is not to undermine their efforts or discredit them in anyway. It's more like a gathering place for ideas and all. We don't need to bring up the past anymore, what's done is done. We move onwards and forwards now. We will wait some time for them to fix the bugs and keep patting themselves on the back then mod it for the way users here on this forum would like to see it.
Being that we reside in the SH3 Mods Workshop means that we are always looking for ways to improve, change, modify, etc. new mods, exisiting mods, old mods, you name it. That's why it's called SH3 Mods Workshop.
I encourage you to speak your ideas, your wants/desires, anything here for GWX 2.0. There just might be some modder that says 'oh, great idea...I need to make that!' and the rest is history.

Take look at the deleted portions of the thread. This was a test of wills, not mods. As RB said, 'The rest is history'.

Carry on!

That said, RG, I would like to say something too:
I think GWX 2.0 is a great mod, as many others, I am nobody to say which is best, All I would like is to say THANK YOU to all the modders and teams that develop super mods, and other mods as well that cover many areas of this game.
About GWX, I would like to try it, but as far as I understand it has been designed for hardcore players only, and since I donīt consider myself one, I feel there is no chance for me to try it unless I change the way I enjoy this great game. I donīt play SH3 that way. So, I was wondering if there is a chance that somebody could make a small mod for GWX 2.0 that restores the color contacts, the tails on the ships and planes (to know the direction in which they are heading), the auto TDC and that stuff.
If it's not possible, then I will have to live with it, but it would be nice that everybody could play using this mod and any other without changing the personal style of enjoying this game as well as all other mods aavailable to the public in this great forum.
Thanks a lot once again and congratulations again to all the persons that make mods, big, medium and small.

CapZap I have played GWX 2.0 briefly and it's a great super-mod but I, like yourself, would like what you mentioned above back also. It is on my to-do list

Of course, by all means. It's the diversity, which is important!

and you all I hope GWX doesn't take offense to this thread. I really hope that they read it and offer advice to us. They made MANY changes to a lot of files, it will take much time to sort through everything. That's not including the time it will take to test a mod to ensure it doesn't break their super-mod. This is where advice and support from them will be really nice to have :yep:
