I wouldn't mind seeing a stealth version :hmm:

Dowly 11-25-07 08:49 AM

Great vids, mate! :rock:Crysis can be quite astounding sight at times, eh? ;)

I'm thinking of starting a COD 4 walkthru thingy, I take Veoh is the place to upload the vids for good quality?

stabiz 11-25-07 09:59 AM

This is the place:

And this is how it looks:

PS. That video quality is so good, I think I'm going to have to switch and see if I can get Divx to play nicely with my system. I like Xvid as a codec better, so if I can get Divx to stop taking over my system, then I'll make the switch permanent. I am uploading a test video right now to see if it will like the Xvid format.

*********. Might save you some headache.

Also, rename the following files, or put them in a temp directory:

CryTek.sfd

Trailer_Crytek.sfd

Trailer_CrytekC.sfd

Trailer_EA.sfd

Trailer_Intel.sfd

Trailer_NVidia.sfd

This way, you don't have to watch all the stupid startup advertising and go straight to the game.

SUBMAN1, you and I definately have different ways of fighting in this game.
You seem to take alot more chances than I like to. I play in the stealthy
mode most of the time & hardly use the cloak at all. I just now took out 21
North Koreans in a small outpost on the beach. I hunkered down behind a
vehicle in the garage and killed most as they came to me. I watched their
feet & legs under the truck and knew when they would come into range of
my gun. I can't wait to get some MP going but don't like the stock MP that
came with the game at all. I need to create some co-op missions on BIG maps.
I like to get it over with quickly. If you snipe or leave a lot of N. K.'s out there as you play through, you'll have a swarm of them to deal with if anything goes wrong.

One more note - I tried to corale them. By constantly moving and shooting - shoot and scoot, notice that the NK's have no idea where to look for you, so they tend to congregate in one general area. This allows me to pick them off. Works on real people too in MP if they are acting like a team. If I lay low and hide, then they will spread out all over the place - good way to get killed!

Nice shot.

I wonder how Crysis compares to COD4?

Dowly 11-25-07 01:49 PM

Crysis certainly looks way better if one has the rig for it. I'm in about half way of the game and the story is average, IMO. Cant tell how the latter part of the game is. :hmm:

We will put it this way - The game changes about 2/3rds the way through. I'd like to spoil the story for you, but figured I'd better not, at least not till its been out for a while. I'll just say this, the Navy...

I found COD4 SP great it's like the previous cod games - "fast" action extreme, Im yet to play the SP of crysis so can't say which is better. The sniper rifle in COD4 works well theres a sniper mission where you and another sniper have to take out the enemy while waiting for the heli to arrive - when you fire that sniper rifle man i could feel those bullets connecting with their heads  COD4 SP is a bit on the short side though.

Theres a gamers made patch for crysis for old PC's limit AMD 2400, 2gigs ram 6600 or ATI 9600 rigs where this patch will enable the game to run in high to very high on older rigs. Ive haven't tried it as no need to with main PC but might if i ever install the game on the older one.

Screenshot of what he reckons he can get from an old PC

Have you ever wanted to enjoy every single vista- exclusive directX 10 effect
on your \"oldfashioned\" and \"outdated\" xp systems? Well, here\'s your chance!
Don\'t believe me? Look at the screenshots then - where\'s the difference?

Installation:
Start the .exe file and select \"apply patch\" under main options menu.
In case you don\'t like the patch, just remove it later by selecting
\"remove patch\" from the same menu.

If your game installation path differs from default, simply enter
the correct path into the \"enter directory path\" popup dialog as
soon as it shows up.
Problem i find it is still using Shader Module 3.0, not 4.0. Its impossible to force Dx10 API on a system with Dx9 software, let alone pre-dx10 hardware. It may look pretty, but its not true dx10 shaders.

I dont know if your allowed to put up rapidshare links in here anyone want to try it out PM me

SUBMAN1 11-25-07 07:59 PM

k - Give me time here. I've finially made stage 6 play nice with my system - I can still use Xvid to do my encodings, and Stage 6 likes them now for some reason - probably because I never used any non Divx compatible Xvid settings for the encodings. You get less quality on the encoding, but the vid still looks good. With Xvid, I have full control over the compression ratio's of the I / P / B frames - something I don't like to give up.

I'll repost that town attack vid in a minute. Still uploading. This time you get full FPS and full detail (barely noticeable compression blocks, but I had to put a cap on the file size so I cut the file size into 1/2 what it originally was).

-S

PS. Kiwi - use some Very High settings on DX9 - works fine if you can handle it.

Tachyon 11-25-07 10:37 PM

I'm sorry if this seems a bit off-topic , but I had to ask...especially since Crysis seems so cool.

At what settings will my rig be able to run Crysis? Here are the specifications :

AMD Athlon 64 3500+
2GB DDR RAM (PC3200)
Nvidia Geforce 8500GT

It will run it, but don't expect to push its graphical boundaries. You really need an 8800 GT or higher end ATI to get the most out of it.

Finished converting then uploading to Stage 6. This looks a little better (understatment - a lot better!) now: http://stage6.divx.com/user/xman11/v...ack-gone-wrong!
