Lord Haw Haw broadcasts, as promised -
http://files.filefront.com/SH3+Lord+.../fileinfo.html They often refer to historical events, so I use them with SH3 Commander's date folder. My mother says she listened to him, during the war, and agrees he was generally seen as a ridiculous character, who boosted British morale, rather than breaking it. Not true of all Nazi propaganda, however. Anybody heard of Axis Sally, whose broadcasts were intended for the Americans - not so funny. She well deserved her long prison sentence, I think.:yep: Trefoil. |
Danke
Oh! and BTW....Lord Haw Haw (William Joyce) was hanged by the British in 1946 for treason :yep: |
Yes, jimbuna - His hanging was controversial, as he was Irish-American not British. The rights & wrongs of his fate are still discussed, to this day, as in this BBC article
http://www.bbc.co.uk/ww2peopleswar/s...a4362798.shtml This is getting a bit off-topic.:hmm: Time for a little light music, I think - Christina Aguilera, where are you? |
