Baggygreen,

I think you would be interested to know if you use my method as you say U475 would be your wolf. I'm unsure where you got your information from but it is totally wrong. This is the true U475;

U475 Type VIIC

Commander: Oblt. Otto Stoeffler

Born: 12th March, 1910, Dusseldorf.

Decorations: Nil

U475 Type: VIIC

U475 War Patrols: x 4 = 102 days

U475 Posting/Bases:
  • 5th Flotilla (Training Boat)
  • 8th Flotilla (Front Boat)
  • 4th Flotilla (front Boat)
U475 Successes: x 2

  • 1 warship sunk for a total of 720 tons (KIA)
    • Soviet Landing craft
      • (At 16.25 hours on 31 Oct, 1944, U475 fired a Gnat at an escort vessel off Osmussaari in the Baltic Sea, observed a hit after 8 minutes 13 seconds and the sinking of the ship. The vessel attacked was probably the Soviet Landing craft.
  • 1 warship damaged for a total of 56 tons (WIA)
    • Soviet Patrol Craft (A/S) (MO-class)
      • (At 03.18 hours on 28 Jul, 1944, the Patrol Craft was badly damaged by a torpedo from U475 in the Viborg Bay).
  • U475 was scuttled on 3 May, 1945 at Kiel-Wik in position 54.19N, 10.10E. Wreck broken up in 1947.
  • There are 8 x crew members known to have survived the war (8), thats eight men Captain of U475 brought home.
Baggygreen;

I hope you think that U475 is pissy no more, my beloved U657 only scored one kill for the war and no one came home.

I hope you play U475 from now on, in the Silent Hunter III world.

Using Venatore's logic I'm the proud captain of U-744. I then had fun reading about it at http://www.uboatarchive.net/U-257INT.htm

well, if i went by birthday mine would be U-220
a type XB

or, by name, it would U-465
a type VIIC

which was sunk a little under a year after it was built....surely because it was a u-boat commanded by a captain who had no training... or very little:nope:

Now i wonder what i was looking at then... I musta clicked an extra link or something somewhere...

cheers ven! my next boat will be 475, when i finally give up on trying to see out the war!!!:lol:
