Uhhh looks like it might be not yet over :o

FIA is currently investigating three cars (2 BMW and 1 williams) because of apparent minimum fuel temperature matters and Lewis could get the championship in the end. :shifty: *Sigh* if they hand the championship to a guy wo is running on a cheating car (With illegally obtained Ferrari info) using an excuse that three guys had cheated when finishing in fron of him, now that will be really the end. Ridicuolus.

Didn't hear Hamilton go off to the press when he wasn't happy.
No need for that. The british press already went hunting witches by its own (As usual) and daddy Hamilton, Dennis and Ecclestone ensured well the FIA ruled out always in benefot of the golden boy. I'm not questioning his talent, it's obvious he is very fast (Probably faster than Alonso) but it is also obvious everybody in the business wants him to win, and for business reasons.

Yup, but no penalty is awarded. Kimi is still champ!

This has to be the best race I have ever seen. I would almost prefer being DC`ed over suffering this nail-biter once more.:rotfl:

Formula 1 is #1.

Kovalainen knows how to celebrate when he wins.;)

Even as a Brit, I would not have wanted to see somebody win or lose a championship title by default :nope:

For the moment...

This is ridiculous. McLaren should take it like men and get over it.

:nope: You seem to forget a man called Ron Dennis.

Why is everyone shunning Hamilton? I feel sorry for the lad as he put he all into the title race this season, and was much more mature than alonso was when things didn't go to plan. "they wanted him to win for buissness reasons", perhaps so, or maybe they just wanted to see a British lad hold the championship for once??! The way some people are going on its as if theres some global conspiricy to give hamilton the title!

Godalmighty83 10-22-07 07:15 AM

just imagine the sh!t storm if it was alonso who had a gearbox fault, here would be on TV declaring sabotage while spain would be readying a invasion fleet to take woking.

hamilton did very very well this season, which put a lot of peoples noses out as it was expected he would be thrashed by alonso.

people dont like succesful people, it makes us jealous and bitter.

Well, there is one :) You just need to see the criteria used by the FIA when it goes about penalizing Alonso or Hamilton

Don't get me wrong, Alonso has whined a lot (Too much for my taste, as even if all he says is true, he should have accepted and got over it like a man and then move to another team acting like a true professional) and Hamilton has been incredibly quick. But he has been obviously favoured by the press, Dennis and the FIA, even if he and Alonso competed on an equal basis. And I never have liked to feed whatever the media want me to, but instead I prefer to have my own criteria.

And that criteria is: Kimi is the champ! Well deserved!!

He fought and he have lost. It's simple.
What makes people angry (except British;) ) is those big fishes trying to make Hamilton the next Schumacher. If he is great driver (he is) then he will make great career in F1 without such "help".

What a farce by the race stewards not to punish Williams and BMW for fuel irregularities, rules are rules. McLaren will push the matter and the chances of any punishment are slim as we all know the FIA and Ferrari sleep in the same bed. I'm angry not because Hamilton is British and if the decision goes his way he will be the world champion. It's the fact the rules are being bent and this for me is not playing the game. The FIA are very quick to throw the book at McLaren but when it comes to other teams it's a different matter.

During the race Hamilton made a mistake attacking Alonso and paid the price as for the other matter of his engine sputtering for 30 to 40 seconds which knocked him down the field was a pure technical matter. Don't get me wrong I am not sticking up for McLaren who made a massive blunder in China not getting Hamiton in for a tyre change much earlier, I'm not even knocking Kimi Raikkonen who drove well. If McLaren fail in there appeal I for one will have lost all faith in the FIA and the rules.

According to the latest information, the FIA don't actually have enough evidence to punish BMW or Williams. The FIA's 'official' ambient temperature differed from the temperature recorded by the teams' meteorologists. There also appears to be some doubt as to whether the fuel temperature recorded by the FIA was representative of the actual fuel temperature in the car. It looks like the FIA can't actually police this particular article of the regulations, hence they cannot punish BMW or Williams.

Oh come on! The whole season (And the one before, and the previous, and the previous...) we are seeing how the rules are custom tailored to whoever they prefer. How is it possible that Hamilton and Alonso were allowed to fight for the title when racing in a car that was CHEATING because of having secret info from the rival? How is it possible that the team cheats and the racer has no benefit from that?

F1 lost all credibility long ago, it's sad but true. What a pity that I can't get to see ChampCar and IRL here in Spain, otherwise I would not bother seeing F1 races.
