Thx KiWi  I was just curious. I'm a nvidia fan myself. I wish there was a comparison chart . Doesn't have to be real detailed. Just some kind of guide. Thx again.

I think a 7900 would be closer to an x1950 myself. Anyway i have two rigs one in my sig and another runing an e6300 and a x1950xt. The second rig has quite a bit more raw graphics processing power.

@ Firewall, Sorry I didn't respond but I wouldn't have a clue as to the nVidia equivelent, the last nVidia card I had was a 5200 and the fog problem in SHIII made me change to a ATI 9800 Pro, it was such a huge difference that I have stuck to ATI.:yep:
@ Chock, I now know who to ask if I have problems with PS! HDR is certainly very interesting, I hope it catches on soon with TV, don't know what ever happened to the supposed breakthrough years ago with 3D TV, kinda died out! After what you said about TFT screens I might just hold onto my 19" CRT for a while yet.:yep:
Thanks.

No problem Reece :D Thx for responding.

I wish as I last posted there was a comparison list. doesn't need to be detailed . Just to give an idea how close they are.

Maybe someone on the forum has already done this I hope. "hint hint":D

And when they're done, they can send me any spare cards they've got left over.:D

Updated the first post to include Omega Driver, I like this as it installs control panel instead of the ccc, this doesn't require .NET, also comes with & asks if you want to install Tray Tools.:yep:

antikristuseke 10-21-07 04:31 AM

Ohyeah the CCC is one of the reasons i dislike ati drivers, the old ati tray tools were a much better solution and a lot smoother aswell.

Do you still have to manually remove drivers when you update ATI cards? Thats the thing that turned me to NVidia

Not really, however it is best to do this with either ATI or nVidia to make sure that all traces of ATI or nVidea applications are cleared from the register for a fresh/clean install. I know that ATI supplies an ATI uninstaller that removes all ATI related software (to clean register) in one step! I would imagine that nVidia does the same.:yep:
In my tests, since I was only using ATI drivers & Tray Tools, I only needed to uninstall the previous drivers for each case, I could have just installed over the top, but I prefer a clean slate.
