Arrrrr!
When you're caught naked on the surface by a plane, the water all around is boiling with bullets and the captain says, "Man the AA guns," he who hesitates is lost, along with his whole crew and the boat. Our good captain listens to his crew and allows a lot of latitude and difference of opinion, but when he gives an order it must be obeyed instantly, without question and without regard for your own personal safety. Discipline took us this far and discipline will take us home.
All the blokes over at that other forum bite and scratch each other like a bunch of rabid housecats and can't figure out why Ubi and the devs don't pay any attention to them. It's a real shame a man the caliber of Ducimus has to spend time in the brig, but just a peek "over there" shows what happens when the ship has no discipline. A smart and tight ship that we can be proud of is no democracy. If I ever step over the line and be sent to the brig, I'll do my time with pride, bein' an example that sometimes a rough and ready crewman steps over the line. He pays his time and comes out a better man, knowin' whose in charge. You WOULD sneak me some grub from the galley while I'm in there wouln't you? I hear the food in there would gag a maggot. |

I guess Neal's comments get ignored by some people. As for your statement regarding Ducimus' caliber, this will not be a personal attack, but be under no illusions, he has dirtied these forums as much as the rest of us. We all have good/bad days, Ducimus will not deny it, I will not deny it as will anyone else who may have been involved with past events in Subsim. It's just the nature of internet forums The things that fuel these events are comments like yours and like Ducimus from the thread that resulted in brig time for two members. Remember, the boards are open to everyone and as such, any negative comments (in either direction) will be read and responded to accordingly. The best we can hope for is people to keep their head when posting and to think whether their words may offend people. |
Let's just move on here and do our thing in a respectful and mature manner, in what ever forum folks choose to frequent.
Neal and the mods here will keep this ship, err sub on course, lets do our best to help them do just that RDP |

Could my post have been so badly written that you could not understand my meaning? Time for another of those damnable polls!!! I disavow any statement by anyone that attempts to drive a wedge between players of the two best submarine simulations on the planet. SH3 and SH4 are complimentary, not competitive, having entirely different subject matter and lessons to teach. There is some cross fertilization, and even that is complimentary, not predatory. Fanboys in the perjorative sense of the word are defending a position they need not take. Count me a fanboy in the positive sense of both amazing simulations! Am I clear? Any questions? Here, let me eat one of these ship rats to prove my repentance. Anybody have any hot sauce? :gulp: |

I would not presume to catagorize it. Neal's football, Neal's rules. My comment was just about Military Justice in general.

Sad to hear Ducimus got thrown in the brig though. But then again, I'm partial, I've enjoyed so many hours of his work through these months, that I could forgive him almost anything :) Then again, I am equally sure the powers that be around here, is well aware of Ducimus merits to the community, and as such, it makes me glad to see they do not play favourites. It's the only way to keep up a proper forum really. edit: spelling... |
