Go for it, AVG!

BTW, you can open the missions in the editor to look at the TSR stuff in the cointext of their even triggers, etc. So mission1.mis and mission1.tsr both open and both save when you open the mission in the editor.

I don't think he is up to using the mission editor yet
tater but I could be wrong. It is easier to do it in pad just for messages alone in the TSR's. Remember this is his first mod work as far as I know.
if I am right don't confuse the poor guy if not sorry AVGWarhawk. |

http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q...2059.5_468.jpg Picture two, the message about declaring war is stock, I added the second message with radio silence etc. It pops up on the 13th and you are at Midway by then refueling so you can high tail it to Midway without coming out of high TC. We all know it is a long transit and coming out of high TC all the time can be painful. OK, this is the progress so far. Currently I'm working with the stock campaign with stock messages. I do not know why they entered a Dec 7th 1941 message as you are placed in your submarine on the 9th or sometimes early morning on the 10th. One thing, you are taken out of high TC for high priority messages that will transmit until the submarine receives them. Pac New are not high priority and do not stop high TC. With that said, high priority messages will be kept to a minimum but will be informative as can be. Also, Tater asked to have the message sent in the night time hours as this is when the subs are surfaced. UBI has done this already so some thought was put into it. UBI timeline of critical dates and news are pretty good. I will add more interesting things for Pac News. These will be low priority and low probability the sub will pick it up as I do not want to clog the clipboard. @Tater, these messages are triggered only by date and time. The do not coincide with TSR files. The have their own trigger it seems. In all reality, anything can be put in this text file with date to trigger it. Hell, UBI put in "go sink something and get a screenshot". Messages like this, although fun at the time, will be eradicated with something more appropriate. |
Outstanding idea!

AWSOME WORK AVGWarhawk
good for you in getting this going! Better you someone who can spell than someone like me LOL!!! :rotfl:

It is coming along. Not even remotely as huge an undertaking as ROW but a nice addition of some immersion.

want to trade mod's?
You take mine I take yours?
Today alone I got 15 new file updates from the crew to test and decied on and work with! I feel like I did the day I had to post the mod. :damn: :rotfl: |
I have found some really good news to report. I also found a few more operational orders as well....message about priority on tankers from Admiral King and intelligence on Japanese fitting radar detectors on escorts. Good stuff.

There is a plethera of information and news that can go into this mod. Would most prefer news that pertains to the PTO? Of course the major events in ETO will still be sent out as Pac News but not the smaller new events.

I am sure your best Judgement will work fine

My main goal is to have over 100 lines of news that can be sent out, but part of that goal is not to have it hit the sub and clog the clipboard all the time. I have seemed to been able to do this. In theory, if I have over 200 lines of Pac News, there will always be a variety and not so many repeats as we see now. I see how messages, when/if, they are received is controllable. I have added abour 20 new lines on the stock and will test tonight. Today I have over 50 more lines to add. If she works like I plan, this could turn out very nicely. If not, it is one hell of a history lesson!

are you going to make this compatible with taters new campagne layers, since he also has new messages?
