I certainly remember hearing it from the media. |

Now if you read my post I said "I believe it was G Bush" I did not emphatically state it was G Bush that said this statement. Hence by response on Rumsfeld with question mark. Be that as it may....... In all reality "he" could be anyone. Hence your question, 'Who is he?" My response, "I believe G Bush". The word "believe" meaning I'm not sure. But instead of setting the record straight that you do not BELIEVE he said this or anyone else other than the media without some support information leads me to wonder just what you are after:hmm: Ok, the 'he' was the media guy...... Sound good? |

I appreciate your honesty in the end and hope that in the future you won't spread mis/dis-information based on your political stand or the stand of the media. Cheers wg |

My only deal here is why several post about it? You tell me, you're a Subsim moderator, I'm not. I suspect you thought yourself correct in spreading bad information. PS Arrogance becomes you! Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me........... Even from a moderator. |

"Shock and awe" was a term used by US military commanders to describe their initial air attacks on Saddams regime. Curiously it was designed to minimize civilian casualties and preserve public utilities and infrastructure as much as possible.
"Mission accomplished" was a banner hung from the bridge of a US carrier by its Captain to note the successful completion of his ships tour of duty. Bush made a speech on that carrier soon afterwards and the banner was visible behind him at certain angles. The media miss-attributed the message to Bush in order to imply that he making that statement regarding the war itself. |
Thanks for clearing that up August. I was curious as to why I could not find a clip or quote direct from Rumsfeld. The mission accomplished bit is interesting.

Don't know which carrier this was but here's a nice video I found:
