Good to see that you are having fun :D

Do you go after the DDs first? If you do then you might want to change your tactics, because theres a lot more tonnage in the merchants. Thats also what makes it a challenge :)

Yeah, your right the avarage age in here is much higher than the doom type games.
Im 32 myself, but has been around this forum since 1998 I think (Gees has it been 10 years?!?!)

How do you approach a convoy when you want to attack?

Age

53 here. Too old to rock and roll, too young to die. But I can practice dying right here in Silent Hunter 4. :o Yup, it's no kids' game. The new models just aren't designed for anything more cerebral than hand-eye coordination. All this navigation, target acquisition and boat handling is boring for them.

Actually life is boring for them because it involves a lot of planning, strategic positioning and thought. Those things are boring to today's thrill-seeking kids. Unfortunately for them life is a marathon, not a sprint. I have to wonder how they'll do in the long run.

Wonder who the youngsters on this forum are? I want to take my hat off to 'em and thank God that there are still young people who will endure the frustration life and this game have to offer for the greater rewards that come from patience, persistence, planning, committment, discipline and all that boring stuff! The sweetness of the reward is the result of the price you pay.
