Dont worry, this game is utter crap. Graphics are okay, but sounds, recoil and pretty much everything else is way off. Sigh.

Well, I liked it anyway
Demos are not always representative of the complete finished product... My only real gripe so far is the lack of a TOGGLE ironsights setting, having to keep your finger on the rmb whilst aiming then mashing the lmb to fire is a bit off imo, particularly if you want to do that lean or creep thing with your sights remaining up. It ain't no COD2 that's for sure, thank god. |
I think it's pretty good. Remember, this is a demo so hopefully they will still be making improvements and by the time it's released it should be alot better than the demo. I really like the non-linear approach, it's kinda like a Battlefield game now. btw, if your having trouble downloading it from Filefront and places like that, there is an official torrent file which downloaded in about 4 hours. And before anyone says - Torrents AREN'T illegal!

Considering the retail version hits stores in a matter of weeks, the demo is likely very representaive of the finished product. I enjoyed it for what it is, though it's definitely a full-out aracde shooter (don't expect RO style realism here). One thing I found strking is that when I fired it up I had to double check that I wasn't in front of the 360. This game absolutely screams console port, big time! From the way the simplified menus are handled to the way you auto lean when you move a little to the side.
It's a shame that many PC titles are watered down when there is a multi-platform release, but that's simply a sign of the times. Hey don't get me wrong; I enjoy the 360 for sports games (Madden 08 and Forza 2 are great), but I prefer my shooters on a PC with a KB and mouse. In the end, it may be a fun and quick jaunt on the PC, but I can't help but wonder how good it may have been if it was a PC only platform release. |
I think the demo is great fun actually. I didn't expect realism in a MoH game, so I was surprised over the amount of damage you could take (Which is MUCH less than previous MoH games). Overall it's a fun demo, and I'll get the full game for sure.

After doing a couple of days research on video cards along with
what MS is considering doing with DX10, I settled on the cheapest card I could find that would run MOH:A. I got a GeForce 7600GT with 256megDDR3. At only $69.95, the card runs MOH:A demo just fine. Also my frame rates and what I can now see in SH4 really makes the upgrade worthwhile. Frame rates were doubled from my old ATI X600 pro card running 256meg of std memory. Will wait & see about the next DX10 upgrade (maybe for XP).... JIM |
