The new tool that is being developed for moding should open the door up for (well) just open some new doors.

Yeah, it looks like a good one.

i´m sure that after trigger maru and RFB with the time could be released a big supermod like GWX.

in sh3 was Rub, NYGM/ GW and finaly GWX (there are others but i dont remember now)

also there is the possibility that it could be the last submarine simulator in a lot of time and probably could be some more mods like an atlantic campaign.

Well its already stated that there would be no GWX type mod due to the brow beating those modders took.

Same with "commander" .. I mean really, talk about biting the hand that feeds you.

On the other hand, SH2 had a wealth of great modders, most of whom didn't come back for SH3. Then we saw all these new faces, most of whom I'd never heard of. Just because the SH3 modders don't do it for SH4 doesn't mean someone new won't pick up the ball. A lot of these new mods are from people who weren't here for SH3, so I'm still excited.

Scuse me while i explode and do my immitation of bill the cat but ahh...

I have to wonder WTF ive been doing now. :damn:

So what exactly is, a "supermod"? My guess is its a very large mod package that is intended to improve the total experience. That ultimatly has been my aim. Tmaru is getting rather large. In some respects, it is the "GWX" of SH4 because of that. The difference is that there is no dedicated team that worked away from the mod forums working on it. All the modders on mod forum are the "dev team", and Tmaru is ultimatly a culmination of community effort. They have ZERO commitment level, and their names are featured prominatly in the credits. I only use what mods give permission ahead of time. If i have to ask, then i just dont use it, i dont have time for poltics.

I am more like an orchestra director. I envision the music, and i direct the bits i can and want to produce a song i will enjoy. The main reason im breaking soon is becuase i can play project manager, tech support, artist, and code jokey, and testor all at once for only so long, and lately (at least today) certain subjects make me want to cry in frustration. I guess this is one of them.

When im done with Tmaru 1.5, i beleive it will be as near of the total experience that can be achived currently. Since im also PR man as well as all of the above, i have to say I'd really love it if Stabiz could do one of his awesome movies later on, if only to show the rest of subsim, that SH4 is making advances and isnt the piece of **** it was up until recently.

Earlier today i gave Tater a link to this WIP:

If he looked at it, i can only hope he has something good to say.

This is enabled as well:

2 cents worth.

I for one am extremely greatful for your and the others efforts.

Oh.... my.... Uhhh :hmm:

Im at a loss for words.... (stunning I know).

Good luck with that ;)

On the bright side at least your wife is a gamer :p

Ducimus 08-01-07 05:47 PM

My fault, i got her into that, to keep her out of the shops.

SteamWake 08-01-07 06:07 PM

Dont get the wrong idea but WoW is a soul sucking time sink :-?

heh dont tell her I said that. Ive had my fair share of MMORPG's. There all like that.

Thats one of the reasons I like the SH series so much. No one is waiting on me and Im waiting on no one.

(SW saves and gets back on topic ! :p )

I'd agree that T-Maru and RFB are super mods. Afterall, it's not like they only change one function in the game, they are compilation packs that will only get bigger as more content is modded.

johntarmac 08-02-07 07:56 AM

surely a supermod is something that is popular with a lot of players and others make mods to be compatable with them.
i havent tried RFB yet so i cant comment but it does seem to have a good following.
TM i love and would certainly classify as a supermod.

i cant mod so am grateful to all those who are willing to spend thier time producing them, whether they are just tweaks or supermods.
its modders that turn half-a*sed games into great games..

long live the modders:rock:

cheers

TDK1044 08-02-07 08:13 AM

If you're running either TM 1.4 or the RFB mod plus some smaller mods, why is there the need for a so called 'Supermod'? I think some folks are locked into SH3 and the GWX mod and are looking for that in SH4.

Unless one of the modders is currently without a life, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a supermod. :D

Wilcke 08-02-07 09:24 AM

Right now SH4 plus TM1.4 is working really well for me.

Look at what was released and compare and contrast to what we have now. I am sure as time goes by and folks delve into the "innards" of SH4 we will be getting some amazing stuff.

I think we have it pretty good right now! Well, I am pretty happy!
