I've had battery damage such that it wouldn't charge more than 95/100. Thus it would never switch off "recharging mode" thus the fuel economy suffered.
|
An interesting side study might be to look at how many real subs ran out of fuel, and what the outcome was.
In the meantime, the lesson is: Don't leave the computer when you're at high TC. In SH3 I had more than one occassion when I saved myself at the last minute by dropping to slow speed; but that only works if you're paying attention. Or maybe they need to include a 'Chief' patch: It drops to 1x and the COB says "Skipper, I'm worried about the fuel situation. Here's my recommendation..." |

How do you see what they're offering you?
I've never seen this. Wasn't the retirement with the Balao? |

If you really want to save that game-you could just go to the saved game file in my docs and edit the cfg file to read "unlimited fuel" TRUE.
Then change it back again when you're in port. I know it's a cheat-but sometimes when you're going to lose a good career-for something stupid-it's time to cheat! |
You're just not going to get good fuel efficiency at 2/3, not even in SH3. It's way too fast. :shifty:
|
Stock game has fuel efficiency at 10knots for fleet boats. Cruise at 9 knots for max range.
TM 1.4 (mod pack) sets fuel efficiency to 10.95knots (so you can set a historically accuracte 10knots cruising speed to achieve max range). |
