When your wife dreads going on vacation with you to the ocean, and she knows you are taking a pair of binoculars with you.

"Don't mind me honey, just scanning my sector."

When you see a Japanese flag and yell for General Quarters.

Haven't played SH4, but I knew I was addicted to SH3 the day I saw a tractor-trailor on the highway and found myself calculating his speed and angle-on-the-bow.

One of the IT techs around here has a sonar ping for a ring tone. Every time I hear it, I get all tense and want to call out for sonar contact reports.

Also, whenever I'm playing a different game, I'm allways thinking about SH4.

You know you're really addicted when:

Your boss is telling you for the umpteenth time how he managed to save a bunch of money on having a new swimming pool installed at his house, and all you can think of is how you wish you could submerge and sneak away....and maybe fire a parting shot. :p

cunnutazzo 07-16-07 12:10 PM

when you have to patrol the same area every time, but every time you'll meet a different enemy's behavior.

When the roar of a diesal puts you to sleep.

When you try to find a periscope to mount in your house to watch the neighborhood.

You plan your route to the store to avoid detection as much as possible.

Actually when I'm fishing, usually early in the morning as it's starting to get light, there's dense fog all around, and I'm still half-asleep, I'm thinking "Did I just see a scope over there?" :o "Please be a turtle, please be a turtle....."

When you step into the elevator on your way to work and yell "BLOW BALLAST!"

When you step into the elevator on your way home from work and yell "CRASH DIVE!"

Yesterday, while sitting at my desk at work, I happened to look down at the system time and instinctively started mashing the numpad plus.

Unfortunately... nothing happened.
