I think Nuoz has a point ith positive bouyancy and the boat being exposed.

Snakeeyes; check your \Submarine\NSS_Uboat9b\NSS_Uboat9b.cfg Periscope depth.
Is it less then 13.5;meters ? (IXB)

I ran into a similar problem, some damn where I can't remember, but from 2.0 to the 2.15 update. Positive boyancy got my jazz detected about everytime with old tactics from neutral boyancy.

My periscope depth says 12 metres. is it supposed to be 13.5?

Just a little curious here :hmm:
If, in your opinion GWX and or the realism or gameplay is "crap" and "sucks"....what version of the sim do you prefer to play?

Part of the problem is the crew efficiency
I never got as far as the US in looking at stock ratings

I have removed 99% of the stock scripted patrols around the UK and US

Stock SCR below - the ships become " alive " when you reach within 50 km of them
But stock scripted patrols don't affect the DD's crews awareness of the player's sub, do they ?

Well yes if the crew level is veteran in 1941 off the US coast it will
You would expect to come across a few veteran convoy escorts by then but not US patrols

The higher the crew rating the better they are obviously
A competant crew arent as efficient or good as a veteran one
An elite crew is better again

@danurve:

You were taking to Snakeeyes about periscope depth for IXB. Did you see my question?

Corsair 06-26-07 06:01 PM

7 meters depth under keel at periscope depth is called looking for real trouble...:D

Do NOT try to make me look like a bad guy I only wanted to convey large amounts of disappointment with the AI abilities around New York. I just know that this is the first time with GWX that I have found a real goofy problem. Visiting New York in conventional SH3 was actually a little more realistic in terms of US Navy presence while GWX has more realistic shipping traffic.

Take your pick, it even out.

Okay, (Kpt. Lehmann pushes his "be patient" button three times.) since your non-radar proof U-boat is in shallow, seven-meter water with parts sticking out... and you have awakened the usually dull local ASW forces into "full alert" status... and they are doing their best to do their job and kill you... and you've put yourself in a position where you cannot get away...

HOW is this BS????

PS: You should have seen how many crew level 4 "elite" units there were on the U.S. eastern seaboard region before GW/GWX began to reduce them in efficiency level.

How realistic is it to raid New York? Never happened btw, New York at least was pretty well protected, it was the traffic off the coast that was not.

Yes I just read it, sorry about the late reply.
I can't say if your sub cfg file is supposed to be 13.5, but that is what returns neutral buoyancy for the VIIB-VIIC & IXB I use. It is from a mod called (REL_GWX_FTT_Subs_Neutral). Btw it also has information on salvo selection that makes more sence when you have a mix of t1&t2's for example.
And with that I'm out of this thread, was trying to help but it seem to be getting sour.
Good luck.

First off - Didn't mean to get defensive. Horrible long day. Didn't mean to sour. I'll sweeten now. :)

I'm going to check the config file and set for 13.5 I do seem to ride high you know?

Thanks for all the feedback guys!
