Actually several weeks ago I was reading Thomas Jefferson And His Time: Volume 5 (of 6), Jefferson The President, Second Term, 1805-1809, by Dumas Malone,and it had a great account of the Chesapeake Affair. I noticed that the 200th anniversary was coming up, and I thought "I have to write something about that!"

I was originally thinking of giving the thread the title "BRITISH OUTRAGE", but then I thought that might be cheating.
