As I recall Turkey denide the US overflight and troop staging areas in and above its territory during the build-up leading to OIF. I guess they are paying for that decision. There is a lesson to be learned here.

I think Turkey was hoping to avoid a US Invasion altogether. Although I feel sorry for the Kurds, I can understand the Turkish attitude towards any kind of Kurdish seperatist movement.
