I think Turkey was hoping to avoid a US Invasion altogether. Although I feel sorry for the Kurds, I can understand the Turkish attitude towards any kind of Kurdish seperatist movement.

That may very well have been the case. After all, Sadam was taking care of Turkey's Kurdish problem wasn't he?
