Little off topic, I was checking the site of the USS COD, when I realize that the name of the fish that give's name to the sub is the fish that is one of the natiotal dishes of my contry. I laugh myself up!

Hmm. It looked to me like the radar is on the pole attached to the back of the attack scope. Guess that's what I get for thinking.

I believe the obs scope also had a pivoting head so that you could look up 45 degrees and scan for airplanes better.

Gato is also cat in portuguese as tambor! But cod, besides the name of the fish, is also used for many portuguese jokes!:D

The third post is for the radar, however it seems to be broke. You should be able to operate the radar submerged. You could do that in Silent Hunter 2

In SH4 we have radar depth and can operate the radar submerged. I thinks is about 45 feet of depth or 50. Also in the one movie of US subs, Torpedo Run or Below (or none of this, since my memory begins to have a lot of failures) they extend the radar mast, when in periscope deph, to "take a look".

The one on the back of the scope is the SJ radar the third housing behind that is the SD radar

IIRC this was the case in SH3, certainly for the Kreigsmarine anyway.

40 feet works for me, 41 and it turns off, for a Balao.
