Ah, I love airplanes. I know most about WWII to be honest, but there is something special about flying over No-Mans-Land in a Sopwith Pup....WWI for me, lovely aircraft, horrible war.

I could've voted for all. What I actually play is IL 2. I've had a long holiday from flight sims (been underwater!) but just bought IL2 1946 so back in the cockpit. I used to play Janes USNF because the campaigns were so immersive. I also really enjoyed Hind or whatever it was called, long gone now I guess.
I really fancy WWI if anyone can suggest a good sim for the period??

Mike

WW1 biplanes gets my vote, same as I would vote in the case of submarines:up: . Though in the case of flight sims, beyond my standard reasons for loving WW1 warfare sims, I can add that since I'm a total disaster and nut with flying sims, the considerable lesser number of keys and options makes it much easier for me to survive some minutes more before being killed

I enjoyed very much Flying Corps some years ago, and the printed maps were lovely -Man how I miss the sims of those years, they knew how to do good sims back then, enriched with thick manuals and extra stuff- but lately I have not seen any exciting WW1 flight sims out there in stores:down:

Modern. From "Lock On" flightsim i liked to fly the USAF A10 tank killer & RUS Su 25 bomber or Su-33.

I wish i could still play Falcon 4 but have never manage it to run without CTD continuously on XP and Vista.

I just got IL2 1946. I guess it's ok but now I wish i'd gotten CFS3 so I could play OFF.

Matey I don't know what it's like over there, but you can pick up CFS3 for virtually nothing over here.

Think I saw it for £15;)

Love WWI flight sims. Love 'em!

bradclark1 07-06-07 08:56 PM

Jets and WW1 for me. Specifically Jane's F/A-18 and Red Baron with the Full Canvas Jacket and Western Front mods.

I suppose I should add the reasoning of my vote rather than just spamming the thread. Right, then, I voted modern aircraft because of their complexity and level of technological advancement. There's just so much more to do in an F-16 Fighting Falcon than in a Sopwitch Camel or Supermarine Spitfire. So many more systems to take care of, so many more weapons to use in so many different ways. It's simply more stuff to play with.
