Look what EA did to Jane's F/A-18. Dropped one patch and ran. The community wanted to fix things and do a few mod's, so they contacted EA to see if they could get some support. Nope no can help you and by the way we can't find the source code.

And it has been resolved even before BF2142 was released. The "spyware" is used for the advertisements you see in the ad-boards on several maps.

Yea, I should have mentioned that, it was never really spyware that was in 2142... people just totally freaked, and maybe rightfully so... who wants ads on something that they purchased?

Who even has the time to see them in midst of battle? ;)

I gave up on EA and their BF2 [out right REFUSED to buy 2142] and their damn ranked servers. Teamwork [lack there of - was a joke on ranked BF2 servers with or without VOIP comms. All it does is invite the narrow minded player[s] that want to chalk up a big scores or increase their rank to unlock more weapons and teamwork as a team or even at the squad level was simply not there.

I had GREAT hopes for SH-IV replacing BF2 as my game of choice, but hundreds of if not 1,000's of posts here has me down in the dumps and I see need no repeating of what is wrong since it is not going to help anyone including me. BUT .... thank God for the people that have made MOD's. I use 5-6 of them and it brings me endless hours of enjoyment.
