Going over the files, it seems to me that it would definatly be possible to port at least the uboats from SH3 over to SH4. After that, it would take some work to create the uboat campaign(from scratch most likely).

I think it will happen eventually, once the modders get tired of fixing the bugs, and are looking for something new to do.....

My idea was to make a pacific theater mod for SHIII.. SHIII is very stable and the graphics are acceptable. If we could transport the skins, radar, tdc and targets from SH4 to SH3 we could have a very playable US sub pacific theater sim. JOe S

Ships are possible. The itmes, like radar, shuld not be a the problem...
If I remember, there was a problem with new playable subs...

I normally do not look at machinery in that kind of manner but I have to disagree whole heartedly on the dramatic happenings. Read up on the Batfish sinking three Japanese submarines three nights in a row. Read up on the Wahoo going into small ports and bays to sink enemy vessels. Check out the circle running torpedo in the Tang and how less then 10 submariners from that submarine spent the rest of the war in POW camps. Lots of drama....it is just that the subs came, saw and kicked butt:D . Sorry about the U-boats, just did not keep up with the rest of the group in technology;)

That's the problem, I know the US subs kicked ass. I like being in the receiving end, fighting with everything I have to survive against all odds. Just a personal taste. ;)

(Tho Uboats ARE the sexiest subs ever build) :rotfl:

I agree, the Uboats have that mystic and surrounded by cloak/dagger type atmosphere. Hardship for a common goal type deal.

The jury is still out on the sexy boat deal;). They are both so round, so firm, so fully packed:smug:

LOL sexy is a matter of taste....look at my sig;) and I'm not the only one! (And no, my wife is not fat and ugly, that's just my taste for submarines, not women;) )

SH3 + GWX + SH4's water + (SH4's damage model - mystery damage) = :sunny:

For some reason SH3 keeps pulling me back. I don't know what it is about the game or the Atlantic or the u-boats or what. I try to get into SH4, but I just can't. If I sit down to play one of them I always choose SH3. It's really weird.

I just watched the Top Ten Submarines on tv the other day, btw.
