Look fantastic!. Though just for jealous nit-picking;) , IMO the *perfect* set up for inmersion purposes would be widescreen aspect ratio and resizing the projected image to the size where the guys appear in the same size as a real person standing there would. Anyway, great set-up!

I agree Hitman. Unfortunatley the projector I borrowed is an elcheapo model for presentationse etc and doesn't even have a wa of setting the aspect ratio. I'm looking to buy a good quality home theatre projector with 16:9 AR and HDTV quality. This is really a test to check out the concept.

I dont think there is anyway of running SH3 in a widescreen ratio, even if the video card and projector would support it.

One helluva set up TarJak....you lucky kaleun

This is a fantastic way of playing GWX. Something is telling me you will find it difficult to go back to the 17" monitor after this experience (kind like going back to stock SH3 after GWX) ;) :D :D

Still Enjoy it and keep posting screenshots :yep:

Penelope_Grey 05-20-07 04:34 AM

What an idea! LOL

But I don't need a projector to stay up till 2am playing SH3-GWX! LOL

Well THAT is out there a bit :arrgh!:

Neat set-up.

NICE setup. Makes me miss the home theatre setup I used to have. My 22inch widesceen LCD seems pitiful now :p

Polak 05-20-07 06:10 PM

I love the idea, but my neighbours would keelhaul me, since I would need a soundsystem to acompany a projector. :D

You think the noise of getting pinged, DC'd and the screams of AAALLAARM might upset them? :D

Ungreatful neighbours,:D they should show some solidarity, and let me play SHIII on a projector with a full theatre system enabled on the highest volume. Some people just don't think about others. :nope:

Ho hum. Back to the old 19" monitor tonight. Still got the sound system, but cos the wife is back have to keep it turned down a bit or wear headphones.

Right now I hate my cheap monitor, income bracket, and walls. Oh to win the lottery and get a setup such as that. With a good chair, and a beerfridge in easy reach. I'd hate to get up to hit the Head.

where i work we have large aircraft simulators on hydraulic mechanisms that cause the sims to move around when operated from inside the "cockpit"

i have often thought how cool it would be to have a replica of the control room/ sonar radio shack mounted on those hydralic platforms. the only screens needed would be the chart screen on the table and the small LCD screens mounted in the periscopes.

imagine the thrill of feeling the waves, and the depth charges and the crash dives!
