If you look for your UPC files in the UPC data folder, iirc there is a weapons file which lists all weapon types inc torpedoes etc that where available with the time of availability for upgrade.. to get both the 5" bow and stern guns which are are available in late 44 just locate the gun data that says 5.25" guns (Bow and Stern) and change the availability date.

start a new career and it should then be available as an upgrade. :D

i'm assuming thats what you are after (dual as in both 5" deck guns fitted not twin 5" cannons cuz that would just make you a real :arrgh!: Yarrr!

I'll recheck this info later tonight when i get in and post any update to file location etc.

Sorry for the little hijack of the thread:p but reading it has reminded me how much I'd love to have the Narwhal/Argonaut in SH4:p THAT would be real gunpower...those subs were bigger than a Fletcher class DD and with heavier guns (Albeit only two):rock:

just open the UPC file in notepad and change the date i marked above and take out the Null, 0 and put in a date after the war this will make the guns available between the dates.

let me know if it works for you as i've just remembered i altered the AA guns while i was at it and may have also fiddled with a few other files regarding deck guns etc

I've also seen the upgrade info in the UPC file of the Balao sub so you may also have to update this to the same date as per the previous info listed above.
