I have no clue what it does. |
Crtl N....now that makes perfect sense to find out the weather:roll:
Anyway, my weather changes all the time and is far superior compared to SH3 weather. IMHO:smug: |
Finally got into alittle squall off the Solomons. Mostly cloudy skies, sloppy seas, and thunder. No lightning or rain. It's January,43'. Could be that weather patterns according to time of the year are modeled.

I use cntrl W to get the weather report!!!

The weather report is a result of a minor mod to the commands.cfg file to provide a SH3 feature:
[Cmd261] Name=Report_weather Ctxt=1 MnID=0x3F250006 Key0=0x57,c,"Ctrl+W" You will find many references to this and many other similar commands in the mods section of the forum. -Pv- |

I tried it once after reading about it in another thread and it does what it says on the tin. I wouldn't use it again though. Personally I like creeping up on a convoy in bad weather where the escorts can't see you. Pressing CTRL+N doesn't just clear the weather for the player but also for the AI which means that they see you and start to engage. Never a good situation to be in! |
The weather changes just fine for me so far. Much better than the never-ending storms of SH3.
I left Pearl Harbor in good weather, was caught up in a squall on my way to Honshu and then it changed back to good weather closer to the Japanese coast. I really hope they fix the 'sub on rails' bug, it's just silly the way it is now. Totally ruins the fun of watching your sub traverse the waves. |
your lucky
On one patrol I was south southwest of Japan and started my patrol then had 22 days of heavy rain and fog and the radar picked up plenty of ships but my crew couldn't see them so for 22 days didn't sink a damm thing until the weather finaly cleared up!

I've been useing the RFB mod, by Beery. He tweaked the "Wave Attenuation", which is located in the "Sim. Config." by changing the value. Seems to work. Now the sub cuts through the waves instead of riding over them. Check out the mod in the "SH4 Mods Workshop" forum. On the last couple of pages of the thread, the wave adjustment is discussed. |
