If you uninstall the game then reinstall & apply the new patch all should be fine. Unless of course you are trying to use old saves, Im sorry thats just not a good idea, it may work for some but obviously not all. Best to start completely fresh when a new patch comes along. (I learned this the hard way) |
Just another thought, when you uninstall the game it asks you if you want to keep
your saves...if you say yes you are also keeping some other files that pertain to your "old" game installation which are in the same folder. I "always" say no and let the uninstaller delete all game related files, I even check to make sure its all gone before I reinstall...dont take much to screw things up. (I've found this to be true for many software applications) |
woah
glad i saw this thread! i did the uninstall, told it to delete the saved files. just looked in explorer, there was still an Ubisoft file! in it was my mods folder along with some other files. so i deleted it as well. my whole purpose was to get a "clean" instal, not have anything left that could cause an error. i am re instaling because i was getting an error after the game gets stuck with the red loading bar, then alt+tab out with an error waiting. so hopefuly now it will be "clean" |

In Documents&Settings ? After I uninstalled old version of the game I deleted old folder because uninstaller didn't do this. I am not sure if we talk about the same folder. |
Map is ok now. Map bug appears when I change resolution to 1024. Now I play on 1280x1024. Strange but works for me ;)

I have a 7900 GTX , win XP and no such issues in 1.2. However, I see you just installed Vista, new driver issue maybe? :hmm: |

Small update for those who has the same problem:
changing resolution didn't help, sorry for this misunderstanding, problem appears when I start the SH with AA turned on (x2, x4 etc.) in nvidia panel. Just start it with "Aplication contol" option checked on. Now I am sure for 100% this is the reason. Nothing helped in my issue. I reinstalled, deleted all files, folders - nothing. The only thing which I can do is starting SH without AA on ;) |

Some ppl with Nvidia don't have this problem, others have some issue - I just gave the solution IF someone will need help ;) |
I had this EXACT problem with my Nav Map. I isolated it down to the No-CD exe I was using at the time. I did a fresh install and started running the game with the real exe and DVD in drive. Not even a hint of problems since. I use an nvidia 7900gt vcard but I don't think that is the issue. I've made no video changes that could've alleviated the issue. I had that No-CD exe for 2 days and it was total hell. I had problems with game all over the place including this map mutation. Not a single problem since I quit using the No-CD. good luck.
