- see geoffster's thread: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...=112324&page=2 Will be glad to help further. Might be --> Data\Menu\menu_1024_768.ini My install shows a: menu_1024_768Old.ini too, maybe from GME added mods thou. Nothing like jumping in the quicksand with you.... I tried the following: Removed the menu_1024_768.ini file and loaded-up SH4. The red bar gets to about 80-90% then a Windows 'ding' Alt-Tab you get a message box, "Warning Menu ID not found: 0x2b060000!" Is this what you see? Does your Menu ID missing error show an ident string? That or any other ID corresponds to the Text ID section in the ini file and will give us a lead into what's missing: [G2B I137] Name=Marking lines Type=1026;Menu group ItemID=0x2B060000 ParentID=0x2B000000 Pos=217,-89,590,590 Zone= 217 679 590 590 5 1 0x2B000001 0.5 -0.5 0x2B060000 -0.5 0.5 0 0 Color=0xFFFFFFFF Here's a good thread by Seeadler on what files v1.2 changed: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=112230 [The l Data\Menu\ section] Data\Menu\cfg\Dials.cfg Data\Menu\cfg\OrdersBar.cfg Data\Menu\Data\Museum_tex.dds Data\Menu\Gui\Layout\PeriscopeLeftPanel.dds Data\Menu\Gui\Layout\ReplayElements.dds Data\Menu\menu.txt Data\Menu\menu_1024_768.ini |

totaly removing everything fixed it for me.
i also went and deleted the ubisoft folder that was left after the uninstal. then i installed the game (rebooted), ran it. shut it down. then installed the first patch (rebooted), ran the game, shut it down. then installed the final patch and rebooted one more time. game been working like a dream since then. another good tip that has nothing to do with the error we were having, is to be sure your game resolution and refresh rate matches the resolution and refresh rate you have your monitor set at. this worked wonders for me and thought it was worth mentioning again! |

The 1.2 patch includes the 1.1 patch,so there is no reason to even install 1.1. Having two versions of 1.1 installed may also be causing part of the problem.

Thanks guys..sorry for the delay in response, had to leave town quickly and just got back...I can't find a virual store file anywhere????? I am going to try the sqk ini file and will let you know...as far as matching resolution etc. I can't get that far to check it yet. It kills me before the menu screen, but I think I have the ati set to match my machine and no larger...

Loading SH4 Problems.
I am finding that since the Patch 1.2 being on the game, it has become rather sensitive to any further changes, such as putting on mods, once Patch 1.2 is loaded. I am now getting SUPER RESULTS by "restarting" after each mod is placed on, no matter if its a JGSME, Mini Tweaker or Copy and Paste, Its tedious ...yes...but it seems to do the trick!
