I've got an GeForce Go 7950 GTX card in my new XPS laptop. I know it's not supported but this is the standard loadout for what's likely going to be one of the most popular gaming PCs in America to judge, at least, from the heavy promotional campaign it's getting. SHIII has been rock solid. I've also played Rome: Total War and Il-2: 1946 with no issues.

I got what seemed to be a very random CTD as I was panning around a cinematic view during a night battle. Back before 1.1 SH4 seemed even more unstable but I'd had my hopes up things were fixed. But, as much as it genuinely pains me, I can't bring myself to start a campaign right now. Silent Hunter is a time consuming game to play, and it has to be to do what it does so well, but that's time I just can't sink into something that's going to *poof* on me after hours of hard-won victories.

I really do love SH4 and I hope they get this stuff straightened out. If anyone has any suggetions, I'm all ears. And, yes, I have enabled the v-sync.

I've never been one to update my drivers, but I did for this one and it made a world of difference...

I haven't had CTD until recently. Now, they are quite frequent and is making for a frustrating gaming experience. For example, just now....hit the "A" = maintain depth key and immediately went to desk top, did not pass go or collect my $200. Total BS..!!

You are exactly right.....Too much time is needed to fully exploit the campaign mode and to have it vaporize is frustrating beyond words. I think I'm going to have to shelve this game till they get thier arms around it. Very disappointing to say the least.
