The patch looks good. However there seems to be nothing mentioned about the transparent crew and the lack of sun glare feature that appears to be problem on the ATI cards. Not a game stopper though. The fix for the crew in the patch is to turn fog off. Not a real fix though.

What problems are these? I see the major problems getting repaired. At least the ones I find an issue.

There are a lot of hard coded problems not on the list, such as the stop watch popping up for no reason and the sub taking damage and eventually being destroyed for no reason when resting on the sea floor (game killer). Also, ships getting wiped out during storms.. I am talking entire convoys. I'm not sure if this is a bug or just a bad setting. But I think it's a bug.

By the way, I'm not complaining. I was just hoping for more out of this patch. Looks like they did dome multiplayer and sound setting fixes...

I never rested no the sea floor so I can not comment here. My stop watch only pops up at 512 TC or better. No other time has it done this. I have seen individual ship sunk in monsoon weather. Not a convoy. I'm sure it happens. Anyway, some of the rough weather needs a tweek. To me, what is being repaired is a laundry list of things and few I did not know about.

Actually, if modders fix something broken in the "official" version, I'd damn well expect it done in a real patch. Some people that cannot be bothered with figuring out mods will certainly install official patches.

It'd be a poor choice to require your customers to seek out and find 3d party solutions to "showstopper" issues like the "a" key problem.

I am talking about that darn stopwatch not disappearing when slowing TC back down again. It just stays there.. even at 1x.

The fog is a FPS killer for me. I guess the fog was to make your men look like they were in the fog and so faded. It did not work well. If the fog is gone and the men are not transparent.....looks fixed to me:up:

My ATI card handles the sun glare ok. I do not like the look and have it turned off.

I like No. 13 under "Fehlerbehebung" in the german Readme:

Quote:

13. Es wurde ein Fehler behoben, durch den der Name "Stevens" auf der Uhr des Kommandanten zu sehen war. Ne, war nur Spaß. http://forums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Translates to:

"A bug was fixed where the Name "Stevens" was shown on the commanders clock. No, just kidding." :D

Got'cha , mine does this and is a annoyance:yep:. Maybe removed the file that makes it appear?

The real showstoppers for all of us will be the hard coded gameplay bugs that don't get fixed in any of the patches. SH3 is a good example.

Ducimus 04-12-07 11:32 AM

One item of major concern i don't see listed is what can be called the "international dateline bug". Only happends when you leave from Pearl, and occurs around Midway where the intenrnational dateline is. Your TDC map view will stop working properly, as well as a few other items which i suspect, but can't definatly prove. If ubi doesnt fix it, then the only solution is to try and move the starting base to the other side of the dateline. Leaving from some obscure island isnt historically correct, but would be the only workaround for that bug.

I thought about this but haven't really messed with it. Maybe it's hard coded.. but then again, maybe not.

I'm certainly not disagreeing with that, but I think it's unfair to bash them for fixing everything possible in official patches, even if they were quickly fixed by mods.

It's not really a fix Hawk. Agreed it stops the crew from being transparent but then there's no atmospheric fog. ie weather conditions.

Who's bashing? Anyways, I'm sure there will be other small fixes included in patch v1.2 that weren't listed.

Hans Schultz 04-12-07 11:37 AM

its progress, and progress is always good news.

Fine by me. Fog killed my FPS. I see vessels in a fog but I do not need the fog around my conning tower;)
