I`am not finished the game yet but i know there are 8 endings, the ending when you become blind is a false ending

The variation on the endings and their associated irony is a really nice touch. Mad props out to the animation company that did the cutscenes, as well as GSC.
Youtube has all the endings if anyone wants to see them. The only thing that is missing at this point is a "speed run", but without even looking, I have no doubt that one is currently being hammered out as though it were crucial to the survival of our species. There are screwballs gaffing off finals to figure out how to go through the game most efficiently. I'm talking about caffeine tablets and ramien top coupled with 15 minute power naps. About the screenshots: It is amazing to see everyone still alive around the fire. I generally find lots of dead bodies to loot wherever there is a camp-fire. It's absolutely nutty how many groups have whacked themselves by someone catching fire and then spreading it to everyone else. I have made sooooo much money just checking the camp fires. |
Ah yea. I haven't seen many dead campfires, but I was kind of bummed to see that Wolf, the guy from the beginning of the game, later spawned inside the damn fire near the Freedom base, meaning I'd never get to talk to him again :-?

Any good multiplayer to speak of?

Also, it is almost like they throw the bodies into the fire on purpose to keep it going! -S |
Just finished it up last night.
The ending was pretty disappointing. There are some things in the explaination which don't quite make sense. I think the Wish Granter endings made more sense than the "true" ending. However, I smell an expansion based on some kind of breakdown of space-time, as a direct result of destroying the C-conscious. The little insect that flys off looks like it has some characteristics of the human head to it. The final battle really sucked, too. The outside of the power-plant was bad, but at least I finally figured out where you have to run to. Having to negotiate through to each of those portals was absolutely frustrating -- I gave up and just cheated through it. I'm not going to waste ~20 seconds of reloading, fifty times. It was a hell of a ride and I'm going to play through it again. It's a good game even if the ending sucks. Up until the Brain Scorcher, the game is absolutely intense. At least now I can get back to Silent Hunter 4. |
