This is very easy to confirm using the artillery training mission. Simply begin turning in a constant circle and watch as the many contacts disappear and then reappear as your sub makes its way around the compass. There does not appear to be any dead zone associated with bearing in relation to the submarine.

I knew something weird was going on with radar but I never could put my finger on it. Thanks for discovering the bug!!

This n/s bug has been identified for a while, it just seems that it has not received the attention it properly deserves. I am surprised that this has not taken greater prominence as it greatly affects your ability to locate potential targets whilst on patrol particularly if it is necessary for you to head any direction south of the east west azimuth for any extended distance i.e rturning to Brisbane/Freemantle with some torps left.
