Oh, man. a big one is EE. I like the clear water but the haze has to go as it is a FPS killer.
Fog modeled when it rains is also very good. I lost a freighter in the soup:cry: . Hunt it down with sonar:smug: Manning the battle stations is also cool and the having them stand down when the action is over. |

-Haven't seen the broken prop shafts, although I have scored a number of stern shots. -The seafloor is very nice, with all the rocks and plants. -The explosions are very detailed, as well as the smoke. -Ship winches, rigging, and men are also detailed. -I also like hearing the ship alarm on escorts. -The "tension" music is nice, as well as the "hunter" music. -I like the large stopwatch. -E-7's and above getting "automatic" promotions. -The more detailed crewman attributes. |
Lots I agree with here.
But my three faves got to be 1) the ships. Man, they are belles! I enjoy them so much. 2) The water. I thought SH3 had the bestest water ever for a naval game. But SHIV outdid it 3) the weather simulation and atmospheric effects. |
Love the water, tho i have switched off enviromental now to get some fps back (7600GS card), so now I am missing how the water is transparent:cry:
Like the crew management, dont understand it, but at least now i dont have to care:D On easy mode, tho I love how I can one shot a destroyer  Love the TC that goes right up there The graphics (when u dont have the fps loop of death) are the best I have seen (including GWX) The pilots that parachute out of the plane that you shot down, bobbing about in the water - nice touch The animation of the crew is better than sh3 Random missions and radio traffic, tho sometimes a bit annoying to drop out of TC for a message that is irrelevant to you Overall its got massive potential...hust hope they fix the graphical glitches so I can enjoy it more than I can now and the gamplay for when I go more pro;) |
I agree with all the points noted above. I also like those "little" touches like being on the bridge when the watch changes and hearing the piped whistle.:D

The devs listened to what we wanted in SH4 and included them . Hats off.

Maybe Neal can get this list to the developers. After all the moaning on other things perhaps they need a "pick me"!!!! One more thing I like is the realistic repair times. It took me three hours on one patrol to repair and even then I still had to head in for refit. There is a bug or two in repairs but overall it is good.:yep: |

Oh, after figuring out the sonar it is nice also. Still can't find the volume button but no matter, I still hear them:yep: ****nice job men, no bad MOJO. keep it going**** |
I like the radio room and the captains quaters:rotfl:
|
As mentioned several times, the weather and water are wonderful.
I also like the various types of missions assigned, photo recon, dropping off agents etc. Nice change from just sinking ships:up: Enjoying SHIV, it will only get better. PS The "starting out of harbor" option is very welcome also. |
The AA gunner on (easy setting atleast) does a bang up job shooting down aircraft. I had manned the AA gun myself for half of my first patrol and wounded a few planes then got low on ammo so decided to see if the AI gunner was any good. Came to find out he was very reliable and got 2 zero's before the 3rd dive bombed me perfectly, sinking my boat :x

Nice thread. Lots of good things, the transparent water and lighting in the water is spectacular :up:

Bad MOJO:nope: :nope: |
I noticed something that is a nice touch, under windy, heavy sea conditions, you can see the wind run the top of the water making white water. Next time you have some windy weather check it out.
I forgot the green alge in the water. As you go forward if comes at the scope and when the scope is 180 degrees you see it going away from the scope....nice touch. As we can see, if we stop to take it all in, there are a lot of nice things going on:yep: |
