19" monitors have excellent response times these days, across the whole colour gamat. It is when you get to the 24/27/32" monitors that response time becomes a problem.
There is also some deception in the marketing specifications (now, there's a revelation!). The response times are usually listed for grey-to-grey, which is usually the absolute fastest color change that a monitor can do, and does not take into account "overdrive" which can also cause ghosting from pixels going past their intended state. 19" monitors made from 2005-2007 will have excellent response times. 24" monitors and larger are just now getting into <25ms across their entire color gamat -- many 2005 and 2006 models used to peak near 30ms. |
