Anyone know who the composers of these are? I am just wondering if Minezaki is one. That is Minezaki Koto (well Koto Minezaki here in the West).

the lp i recorded these from lists all the works as being "traditional" with no known individual composer and compositionaly originating sometime pre-17th century...

so, as minezaki was a late-18th/early-19th century composer (and that he's not given attribution on the lp), i'd suspect that no, none of these are by minezaki.

:know:

also, for any that are interested, i recently came across this website which has a nice collection of koto music in mp3 format freely downloadable ==> http://media2.nacs.uci.edu/rgarfias/...pan/japan.html

Hehe, I already have that site on my bookmarks. I love this stuff. I just got my 4 year in Japanese language and culture from Oregon State University. Next is to move there and teach English.

By the way. It is nice to see someone else that knows something about Japanese culture. We should talk sometime.

Since castorp345 said feel free to mirror, and bunkerratt isn't hosting the files any more, I've added it to my site.

I've also added a file containing the Koto music he pointed to above, so you can download one file instead of 29.

Thank you very much
It does work.
Good things to listen during my long hunting patrols...

Thanks. You have some good stuff there. I have been searching high & low for some classic Hawaiian music, but could only find modern artists pushing their tunes.

I've uploaded this to the Subsim downloads area, under SH4 Sound FX mods.
